Battle[edit | edit source]

The Golden Toad is a rare and powerful enemy, with nearly perfect defenses and immunity to many types of damage and status effects. It gives high amounts of gil, EXP and drops rare items.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Fuma Shuriken ignores the toad's near perfect defense and deals high damage with no wait time. The high gil yield of the Golden Toad more than makes up for the 50,000 cost of each thrown. Another strategy is to use Stop and Flare.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The Jin Chan (Chinese: 金蟾; pinyin: jīn chán; literally: "Golden Toad") is most commonly translated as "Money Toad" or "Money Frog." It represents a popular Feng Shui charm for prosperity.
