Final Fantasy Series Acoustic Arrangements[]

When I think of the Gold Saucer, I think of a whimsical theme park detached from reality. I came up with several ideas for replicating that strange thrill that captured the hearts of many.
Through the process of making an acoustic composition that faithfully reconstructs the original I ended up with something resembling a classical polyphony. As the song has a classical feel, I strove to incorporate various performance methods for the array of instruments in a modern-classic-but not too classic-approach. The canon-esque intro leads into a harmonic expression of a dreamlands far removed from the rest of the world. The strings use a performance method known as sul ponticello to create affective sounds. Following the intro, the song plays out in a way that dissects the melody into smaller motifs, and as we approach the song's midpoint we can hear elements of our favorite Gold Saucer minigame music.
The final section suddenly steps up in speed like a Roma folk dance known as the csardas (a style known as the "friss" tempo), and I hope that through it you'll be able to feel the intense energy of the Gold Saucer, a place removed from everyday life.
