FFCCTCB Goblin Samurai

The Goblin Samurai is an enemy monster in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, and a variation of the Goblin.

Strategy[]

The Goblin Samurai is a potent warrior using two different battle stances. At the start of a fight, their swords are sheathed and they fight cautiously, using a Gil Toss attack at long range and drawing their blade only during their mid range dashing attack. Knocking them down will make them take a swig from their bottle and enter an enraged "Drunk Fu" state.

In this state, they are much more aggressive, having their swords drawn at all times and attacking with powerful sword combos. While in Drunk Fu state, the player is able to force them to use their sword attacks against other enemies when holding on to one.

Etymology[]

A goblin is a small, mischievous creature found in many European folk tales and legends. The word "goblin" comes from the Norman French word Gobelinus, the name of a ghost that haunted the town of Évreux in the 12th century.

Samurai were the military nobility of medieval and early-modern Japan. They were not just great swordsmen, but also powerful horse archers and martial artists of other fields. Though their status was that above commoners, samurai were bound to forms of etiquette and a way of life known as Bushido, stressing honor to one's devoted and preparing oneself in the face of death.
