You'll feel his powerful Uppercut tomorrow morning, if you live that long.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Glasya Labolas, also called Borras, is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI, fought in Mt. Zozo or the Dragon's Neck Coliseum.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Its special attack, Uppercut, is very powerful, and like most enemies in Mt. Zozo, Glasya Labolas has high Evasion. The player is advised to use magic against them, especially Bio. Locke can steal rare Muscle Belts from them.
Much like the Behemoth fought earlier in the Floating Continent, Glasya Labolas is highly susceptible to Break, and therefore using that spell or Catoblepas is a time-efficient way to eliminate them. It also has no resistance against Rasp and Osmose, rendering it and its 590 MP a useful (if somewhat dangerous) refill in a magic-heavy zone.
Coliseum setup[]
Glasya Labolas focuses on physical attacks, so having high defense and high evasion is the key to victory. The Mirage Vest is an option; while the image status will not last forever, it might last long enough, depending on how much damage the player dishes out. A Man-Eater paired with Master's Scroll and Sniper Eye should round out the rest of the player's equipment.

The sprite that is shared between Glasya Labolas, Hill Gigas, Gargantua, Giant, and Gigantos was used and modified for the Colossus and Taros enemies in Bahamut Lagoon.
Etymology[]
Glasya-Labolas is derived from one of Goetia's demons, the mighty President of Hell who commands thirty-six legions of demons. He is depicted as a dog with the wings of a griffin. He is mentioned in the 17th century Grimoire, The Lesser Key of Solomon.
