Gladiolus is a summonable vision and optional playable character in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. He serves as a character representative from Final Fantasy XV, and has been available for summoning since the event The Frozen Cavern (which originally ran in November 2017 in the Global version).
Story[]
A young man spoken of in stories from the faraway land of Eos. Gladiolus is the eldest son of the Amicitia family charged with the protection of the kings of Lucis and their household, and was thus admitted into the Crownsguard. There he was trained in combat since childhood to fulfill the duties of his prestigious house, and was eventually tasked with teaching a young Prince Noctis to master the sword. Although his first impressions of the prince were not the best, he has known Noctis for more than 10 years now, and considers him an irreplaceable friend.

He began training for his role as a bodyguard at the Citadel when he was young, and was officially admitted into the Crownsguard upon graduating from high school. As a member of one of the many prestigious families of Lucis, he is well acquainted with a wide array of people. Gladio is also said to be popular with the ladies, as he is not afraid to speak his mind.

Gameplay[]
Gladiolus is a 5-7★ Rare Summon. His job is listed as King's Shield, and his roles are Tanking and Physical Damage. He has no innate element or status ailment resistances. His Trust Master reward is the heavy shield Ziedrich (DEF+70, SPR+35, HP +15%), which grants the passive Ziedrich (gives a 30% chance for the equipped unit to counter physical attacks with a 100% ATK self-boost). His Super Trust Master reward is the passive ability Chosen King's Shield.
His awakening materials are the following:
- 6★: Rainbow Bloom x20,Calamity Gem x10, Calamity Writ x10, Prismatic Horn x5, Divine Crystal x5
- 7★: Gladiolus Duplicate Awakening Material x1

- Limit Burst
Impulse (ライジングインパルス, Raijingu Inparusu?, lit. Rising Impulse) is Gladiolus' Limit Burst. Somewhat unique, it is a 1-hit attack that deals partially-unmitigated damage to all enemies, ignoring their DEF by 50%. It also increases Gladiolus' chance of being targeted to 100% for three turns, effectively being a provoke-type ability.
