Gigas Worm is an enemy fought in the Chaos Shrine and outside towns such as Elfheim and Pravoka. It is weak to fire.
Final Fantasy II[edit | edit source]
Gigas Worm is a Soul of Rebirth enemy that is fought in Raqia. It is weak to fire and can pose a considerable threat if encountered before Josef joins the party, as their high attack power can quickly defeat Minwu and Scott.
Final Fantasy IV[edit | edit source]
Gigas Worm is a boss that appears exclusively in the GBA and PSP versions. It guards Edward's Apollo's Harp weapon in the Cave of Trials. It has strong physical attack power and counters the party's own physical attacks.

Gigas is a Greek word meaning "giant," originally used to describe the race of Gigantes in Greek mythology and is used in the scientific name, as the specific epithet, of hundreds of species of animals and dozens of plant species to denote their size.
