Its Throat Jab attack is to be feared. There is a great chance of being Wounded with one hit.
Final Fantasy VI PlayStation Bestiary entry
The Gigantos is a monster-in-a-box in Final Fantasy VI that can be found in both the Floating Continent and in the Soul Shrine.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Gigantos has great physical power, and it counters any attack against it with two physical blows followed by its special attack, Throat Jab, which does heavy damage and can likely KO a weaker character. Every other turn, it will perform three Throat Jabs in a row.
Strategy[]
Placing the party in the back row prior to the battle will mitigate Gigantos' heavy damage output.
The easiest way to defeat Gigantos is to summon Phantom, granting the party Invisible status and causing all of the Gigantos's attacks to miss. Bio spells deal heavy damage to it and is also affected by Stop. Alternatively, the player can also cast Catoblepas or Lv. 5 Death for a quick Death.
