Ghouls are basic Cie'th enemies in Final Fantasy XIII. It is first seen in the Pulse Vestige.

Their narrow field of vision makes it easy to initiate a preemptive strike. They usually attack in numbers, but are not difficult to defeat, as their attacks frequently miss and can even damage each other. They will attempt to heal themselves to no avail. As they are weak to elements, using a Ravager in Lake Bresha works well.
