History[]

Final Fantasy XIV (version 1.0)[]

Geva from FFXIV 1x

Geva in version 1.0.

Following Miounne's recommendation, the adventurer visits Atelier Fen-Yll to sell the treant vine he obtained from the raging treant that attacked him in the forest earlier. The adventurer met master Geva, who rated the item with an average quality. Geva explained a bit about elementals and about what the forestborn call woodsin. During the dialogue the adventurer had a vision of echo, where he saw Geva talking to the young Khrimm about an airship under repair and about the boy's parents.[2]

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn[]

After the Warrior of Light joins the Leatherworkers' Guild, Geva gauges their potential of him as a Leatherworker and instructs them in their tasks. Geva gradually came to recognize the Warrior of Light's abilities when he produces a quality toad hide to maintain the Guild's reputation due to a forgery that an Ul'dahn merchant bought from "Angrbotha". After this first case, Angrbotha's forgeries continued to damage the Fen-Yll's name, and Geva had to remedy the situation.[3]

Angrbotha made several Fen-Yll members leave the guild to work for them, thus overloading Geva with work. The recent troubles have convinced Geva to forgo this year's exhibition in favor of devoting the guild's limited resources to filling the commissions of its clients. One of the clients turns out to be Dauid, owner of Angrbotha Apparel and Accoutrements. Not content with belittling Geva and his work, the charlatan even offers the Warrior of Light a job. Incensed by Dauid's words, Geva bids Warrior of Light represent the Leatherworkers' Guild at the upcoming exhibition. The Warrior of Light triumphs in the competition, and Dauid is arrested by the Wood Wailers for his forgeries. The exhibition leads Geva to declare Warrior of Light apprenticeship is over, and that they are now a full-fledged artisan of the Leatherworkers' Guild. As her hands will be full retraining those who have returned to the guild from Angrbotha, Geva will most assuredly be counting on Warrior of Light aid again.[4]

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward[]

Geva has received a request from a merchant named Elde from Ishgard for a sample of Fen-Yll's best work. Geva tasked the Warrior of Light to take the order. Because the price of large-scale trade with Ishgard would simply be too expensive for life in the Black Shroud, Geva instructed the Warrior of Light to refuse any substantial request.[5]

Needing advice on how to convince the Temple Knights to abandon the tradition of wearing chain armor for leather, Elde asks Geva for help. Once she has read the letter, Geva says that she doesn't have much to advise since leather armors are already the best choice for Ishgard's weather. Geva also mentions Ciceroix Pondefout, a leatherworker from the Holy See who visited Gridania years ago and that it was he who created the leather-hardening technique used in Gridania nowadays.[6]

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood[]

When Atelloune Mairlaid decides to hold an exhibition with stuffed animals that are endangered, she makes a request to Fen-Yll Fineries for an assistant. Geva asks Warrior of Light to take on the task.[7] When Marmaduke appears claiming the exhibition is an affront to the elementals, Geva explains that the Leatherworkers' Guild had to overcome its deplorable reputation by showing the practical applications of its wares, and the same must be done for the animal mounts. Geva then asks the Warrior of Light to fashion a jacket out of dhalmel leather. Geva planned to hold an exhibition of leatherworker wares using the jacket together with the dhalmel mount.[8]

Personality[]

Within the guild halls, Geva is a terror—ever scowling, and quick to give a tongue-lashing to even experienced craftsmen. Within own home, however, she is reputedly a kindly and loving mother of two.[1]
