Gerogero is a boss in Final Fantasy VIII. It is the true form of the Fake President Deling. Once the party has dealt enough damage to the Fake President, he will collapse on the ground and the hideously deformed monster will emerge.
Stats[]
Battle[]
As an undead enemy Gerogero takes half damage from physical attacks, is weak to Fire and Holy, is immune to Death and Doom and dies instantly from resurrecting abilities and items.
Gerogero uses status ailment attacks. It inflicts the party with Silence and Berserk. Brrawghh! is a non-elemental magical attack that damages a target and also may inflict Slow, Curse, and Darkness.
It has the valuable spells Esuna and Double spells to draw.
Strategy[]
Gerogero is undead, and therefore Cure and Life spells hurt it. Throwing a Phoenix Down at it will kill it instantly. The Demi spell can also be used to deal significant damage. The player can draw-cast Esuna to heal status ailments from the party. Draw-casting Double also lets the party use two Esuna spells per turn, if needed. Before killing it, the player may want to take a few turns stocking up on magic from it.
Triple Triad[]
Gerogero is a poison-elemental Level 6 Boss Card in Triple Triad used for playing the minigame and for turning into Circlet (10:1) with Quezacotl's Card Mod. It is a rare outcome from successfully carding a Cactuar or a Gayla.
Censorship[]
In the original Japanese version, Gerogero's organs were red. The change to blue was probably made due to censoring, as the red color makes the organs protruding from the creature look far more real. This version of Gerogero can also be seen in both the BradyGames and Piggyback Interactive official strategy guides for Final Fantasy VIII, as well as Final Fantasy Record Keeper.
