Gelatitan is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII. It is the mark of Cie'th Stone Missions 21 and 60. It is the first of six marks that must be defeated within Taejin's Tower to ascend to the top. The Menhirrim that gives out the mission (Mission 21) is located on the tower's Second Tier.

A group of Gelatitans is later fought in Mission 60, as part of the Cie'th Stone circle grouping that, once every mission in the circle has been completed, will unleash Shaolong Gui and Long Gui on the Archylte Steppe.

Mission Edit

21 - A Tremulous TerrorEdit

Mark: Gelatitan
Locale: Taejin's Tower - Second Tier
Class: C

Brave soul, head my plea and we shall bring light to your dark path.

Know that a gelatitan holds my power thrall within this spire. Slay it and I shall once more be free.

If you can but restore the strength of my two brethren and I, here on the second tier, the way will be opened unto you.

60 - Dégelà VuEdit

Mark: Gelatitan
Locale: Taejin's Tower - The Cloven Spire, Apex
Class: A

The path to enlightenment weaves throughout the valleys of the soul's nexus. At its end, as at its beginning, lies primal knowledge.

Entreat with the gelatitan, that monument to primal form, and become one with life's circle here again.

Stats Edit

As Gelatitans are weak against Lightning damage, a group of Ravagers can bring them down quickly. The only party member who doesn't have any Lightning attacks is Snow. Lightning specializes in the element.

Gelatitan is a portmanteau of the words "gelatin" and "titan".

Gelatin is a translucent, colorless, brittle (when dry), flavorless food derived from collagen obtained from various animal raw materials.

Titans were members of the second order of divine beings in Greek mythology. They were descendants of the primordial deities born from the Chaos, and they preceded the gods of Olympus, who went on to overthrow them.
