The Geiseric is an enemy from Final Fantasy XIII-2. It is found in Academia -400 AF-, blocking a pathway towards the northwest. To find it, the player must head to the New Town area and head east. It is near three blocked pathways represented by red Obstacle symbols on the map. Once it has been defeated, the player must close the gate in the Historia Crux and return if they wish to fight it again.

Battle[edit | edit source]

Geiseric blocking the path.

Geiseric is a weak side-quest monster compared to other side bosses, however, it should should not be taken lightly. Once in a while, it will use Dominating Fist for massive physical and magical damage.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Good paradigms include:

  • Guerilla (SYN/SAB/RAV)
  • Tri-disaster (RAV/RAV/RAV)
  • Cerberus (COM/COM/COM)
  • Rapid Growth (SYN/SYN/SYN)
  • Convalescence (MED/MED/SYN)
  • Conservation (SEN/SEN/SYN)

The player can start with Guerilla and buff up while an ally boosts the Geiseric's chain gauge and the other is casting Deshell. Once the buffs are on, the player can switch to Tri-disaster to stagger the enemy, then shift to the Cerberus to deplete the monster's health. Conservation can be used to mitigate damage from Domineering Fist.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Geiseric is a different spelling of Genseric. Genseric was the 5th century king of Vandals and Alans that played a key role in the ultimate demise of the Western Roman Empire.
