Story[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

Gehenna is mentioned briefly as the fourth Divine General, a person who is said to have never been seen by anyone before. Gehenna makes his first and only appearance in the Castle Avalon throne room, where, after Imperio is defeated, he reveals himself as the "true reflection" of Imperio of the Light, and attacks the party. Like Cocytus and Shango before him, Gehenna is defeated by the Warriors of Light and Darkness, and both he and Imperio are destroyed.

Spoilers end here.

Etymology[]

Gehenna is a valley located near old Jerusalem and is also known the Valley of the Son of Hinnom. The location, mainly used as an incineration pit for trash, was supposedly utilized for human child sacrifice to the god Moloch by the Canaanites. This usage caused Christians, Jews, and Muslims to view the area as tainted and a destination for the wicked, and in scripture, the location is described as an analog to Hell.
