Gau's father is a minor character in Final Fantasy VI. He is of course Gau's father, but his identity is not revealed until the World of Ruin. The trauma of losing his wife and being Gau's father, who he sees as a demon child, drove him insane.
Gau's father lives north of the Veldt, and seems to think all his visitors are repairmen of some kind. If the player returns to his home in the World of Ruin with Gau and Sabin in the party, a scene will be shown of the party dressing Gau in fine clothes to present him to his father as alive.
