Final Fantasy X

He is a young Crusader of Spira, and friend of Luzzu, whom he looks up to as a mentor. Gatta assisted in Operation Mi'ihen but was mainly restricted to preparation and messenger duties due to his inexperience. He expresses feelings of impatience and wants to see action during the battle; because of this Tidus can advise Gatta and, depending on the player's choice, can decide the fate of Gatta and Luzzu.

If the player tells Gatta to stay behind during the battle as he was ordered, Luzzu is killed and Gatta goes back to Besaid. If the player tells Gatta his place should be at the front lines, the result is vice versa. If the player chooses for Gatta to stay behind he can be found beside the Djose temple sitting in the grass. If spoken to he says that he found Luzzu, but he was torn in half.

After gaining control of the airship, Yuna and her friends can return to Besaid and find either Gatta or Luzzu training a new group of Crusaders, ever vigilant in the face of Sin. In the game's ending, either Gatta or Luzzu is seen in among the cheering Besaid villagers, depending on which one survived.

Final Fantasy X-2

Gatta is neither seen or mentioned in Final Fantasy X-2, as the game has no way of knowing whether he lived or died in Final Fantasy X.
