Gate of Destiny (エナジーボム, Enajī Bomu?, lit. Energy Bomb), also known as Energy Bomb, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is an ability used by Queen of Class Zero.

Gate of Destiny is an ability for Queen that requires 10 AP and is available after learning Mana Sphere: Crit ↑. Gate of Destiny is a powerful area-of-effect attack that damages all enemies within the sigil. Holding down the input will charge and increase the sigil's size as well as damage dealt. If held, the ability constantly drains Queen's HP until it drops to 1, whereupon Queen will blast the sigil, and the ability cannot be used again until her HP is at least 2 and above. The Gate of Destiny's area-of-effect range is proportional to the charged sigil's size. A quick use (single, quick tap) of the ability costs approximately 12.5% of Queen's HP, while the charged one costs approximately 25% (if timed right).
Gate of Destiny: Power ↑ requires 12 AP and is available after learning Gate of Destiny. It increases the power of Gate of Destiny.
Gate of Destiny: AG ↓ requires 14 AP and is available after learning Gate of Destiny: Power ↑. It reduces the AG cost of Gate of Destiny.

In the Type series, the "gate of destiny" would refer to Etro's gate, the fabled portal to the unseen realm or the afterlife that no mortal us supposed to be able to cross in physical form. However, the allusion only exists in the English localization; in the original, the ability is simply called "Energy Bomb".
