The Garuda is a boss from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. It is fought twice in Story Mode and once in Multiplayer Mode.

Stats[]

Mount Vaal

Lunite Temple

Battle[]

Garudas attacks consist of pecking and swooping down at the party. Should a party member get KO'd, there are Phoenix Downs on each side of the battlefield. Its crystal is on top of its head.

Strategy[]

Watch out when Garuda swoops down at the party, and stay in one corner in the middle field to avoid the attack. When it finally swoops down to the ground, it will become exhausted, leaving the crystal on its head vulnerable. If timed right, one can ride on top of his head, jumping when he swoops down to avoid damage and maintain position on top of him to attack his weak point directly. Or, with proper right timing, use Blizzard to freeze Garuda while he swoops down to the ground.

Etymology[]

Garuda is a large, birdlike creature that appears in both Hinduism and Buddhism. It serves as Lord Vishnu's mount and is the Hindu name for the constellation Aquila. Contemporary representations of Garuda are the brahminy kite and phoenix.

Zu means "fire" in the Sumerian language. Anzû, before misread as Zû, is a lesser divinity or monster in several Mesopotamian religions. He was conceived by the pure waters of the Apsu and the wide Earth, or as son of Siris. Anzû was seen as a massive bird who can breathe fire and water, although Anzû is alternately seen as a lion-headed eagle (like a reverse griffin).
