An erstwhile knight of Cornelia. He abducted Princess Sarah and held her hostage in the Chaos Shrine, but he was defeated by the Warrior of Light. Using the crystals' power, he traveled two thousand years into the past, where his hatred grew in an ever-repeating cycle.

Description

Garland is a playable character representing Final Fantasy in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia. He can be recruited during the Lost Chapter Cycle of Battle.

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Garland wears a dark blue cape with silver armor set with blue jewels, and wears his distinctive horned helmet that reveals his yellow eyes, as opposed to red in the original.

His alternate costume is based on his Hardened Zealot from Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. He wears a white armor set with a white cape.

Personality[]

Garland is a relentless warrior who loathes peace and seeks to drag conflict into whatever place he is, be in the world of battle or the world of respite. He is philosophical about his battlelust, believing the "world of respite" to be an absurd notion. He believes the warriors of Materia to be hypocrites for professing to dislike war while continually fighting their foes. Garland continually attempts to persuade them to accept their "fate" of neverending battle as a form of immortality. He is particularly focused on the Warrior of Light, his old rival.

Story[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. (Skip section)

When the world of respite was created, Garland was disgusted with the notion of a world without battle and immediately sought to bring conflict to it. The Warrior of Light confronted him, attempting to protect his comrades' rest and memory. Garland struck him down, robbing him of his memory, and ventured into the world of respite in order to disrupt it.

Garland glories in the Torsions that rend the world. He engages in a running battle with Lightning up the Capta Est Tower and attempts to convince her of his philosophy, that there is no place for a world of respite in their lives and that she, like himself, should accept a fate of neverending battle. She rejects his words, but their continued confrontations work in Garland's favor. Eventually, their battles agitate the local Torsion out of control and it spawns Dark Bahamut.

Spoilers end here.
