Final Fantasy XIV (version 1.0)[]
After the adventurer arrives in Ul'dah, Momodi introduces him to the guilds in city and points him to an opening at the Platinum Mirage. Talking to the receptionist Gagaruna, he instructs the adventurer to enter the game rooms to see the place.[1]
Once the adventurer joins the Pugilists' Guild, Gagaruna tells a little of what goes on behind the scenes of the Platinum Mirage. He says that the world of man is composed entirely of power, love, and money, and the Platinum Mirage relegates its concerns entirely to the last of these three. Gagaruna also introduces the adventurer to his first instructor, Titinin.[2]
When the adventurer takes a message from the Wood Wailers from Gridania to the Platinum Mirage in search of an alliance against the Garlean Empire, Gagaruna expresses the Ul'dahns' concern over Gridania's inability to manage its domestic threats. Gagaruna says that news often comes in about merchants and travelers disappearing into the Twelveswood. The negative impact on tourism and trade is undeniable, whether the stories themselves are true or not. Gagaruna then gives permission to the adventurer on the subject directly to the guild members.[3]
