Gackt Camui (神威 楽斗, Kamui Gakuto?), born on July 4, 1973, is a Japanese rock artist and actor.

Association with Final Fantasy

He is known among the Final Fantasy community for his songs "Redemption" and "Longing", which are the theme songs of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-.

Gackt is the Japanese voice actor of Genesis Rhapsodos in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- and played this role live-action in front of a green screen for Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-. Genesis's appearance in Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- is also based on Gackt's appearance.

Gackt has claimed in a television program that Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII was modeled after him, and referred to Squall as "Gackt #2", however Tetsuya Nomura himself has said he based a lot of Squall's appearance on the late actor River Phoenix.[1]
