Funguar (フンゴオンゴ, Fungōngo? or ファンガー, Fangā?) is a recurring enemy in the Final Fantasy series. It is a ambulatory mushroom creature capable of inflicting several status effects.

Final Fantasy VIII[]
The Funguar is an enemy that can be found in several regions, primarily in forests. Its signature ability, Laser, will only target female party members, and it never uses any other ability against them. It is otherwise capable of inflicting sleep, confuse, and poison.
Final Fantasy X[]
The Funguar is a fungus-type fiend encountered on Mushroom Rock Road and the Djose Highroad. When attacked, it has a 33% chance of countering with Pollen, inflicting sleep on the entire party. It casts Fire as its primary form of damage, preventing it from waking up the party, but is itself weak to the fire element, rendering it vulnerable to Reflect.
Final Fantasy XI[]
Funguar is a family of plantoid-type enemies. They are common enemies that can be encountered in several regions, though players are most likely to first encounter them in Ronfaure. They are capable of inflicting silence, blind, paralysis, poison, disease, and slow via myriad abilities.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Funguar is a family of seedkin enemies. They are primarily encountered in the Central and East Shroud, as well as in various dungeons. Their purple-capped Toadstool variants can inflict poison. Funguar are most common in A Realm Reborn, and rarely appear in later expansions.
