The Fuma Shuriken is found in a treasure chest in the Temple of the Ancients, first visited in chapter 13, "Where Angels Fear to Tread". The chest is found on a small stone platform in the Shrine of Ambition hallway, Hall of Resurrection - First Tier level.

Use[]
The Fuma Shuriken is a balanced and general-purpose weapon that builds Yuffie either toward spellcasting or physical damage, in providing an equal boost to her Attack Power and
Magic Attack. However, these are only the fourth-highest in both respective stats. Given Yuffie's versatility, in having many magic-based weapon abilities and physical-based ones, as well as balanced attributes, giving her strengths as a physical attacker and mage, the weapon can be an effective way to enable her to be versatile without specializing her toward either way.
The Fuma Shuriken's weapon skills lean somewhat more toward magic damage, but more importantly many help with building Yuffie's ATB gauge. Yuffie's playstyle is based around building ATB quickly and consuming it, to get abilities of either type off, and to build her abilities, such as Purification and Banishment, which depend on her having used ATB charges frequently.
Fuma shuriken is comparable to 4-Point Shuriken in that both have equal boosts to attack and magic damage. Though Fuma Shuriken's basic attributes are lower, it may be preferred due to its weapon skills. The rest of Yuffie's weapons lean more toward one type of damage or the other. In the endgame, players may prefer to specialize with weapons such as Crescent Sickle or Crystalline Cross.
Etymology[]
Fūma Kotarō is the most famous of their clan, and is a title for every successor for the head of their ranks.
The surname of Fūma is associated with the Fūma Clan of ninja. Fūma translates as "wind demon". Though having served since the Nanbokucho period, their exploits were most famous during the times of Sengoku under the employ of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The clan was renowned for its focus on controlled chaos and acts of sabotage, from psychologically goading opposing forces into attacking each other, to hiring pirates, thieves, brigands, and thugs for diversions involving raids on villages on enemy territory. While they formally went by the surname of Kazama, it is popularly believed they went with Fūma to befit their reputations as "demons of the wind", not unlike Fujin and Raijin, the demon gods of storms who were said to have reigned terror on men before their subduing into penance.
