Frostwave (凍てつく波動, Itetsuku Hadō?, lit. Freezing Wave) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is the trademark attack of the summon Mateus, dealing Ice-elemental damage to all enemies.

Frostwave is the ultimate attack of Mateus, used (in the original release) when either the remaining time for the summon is less than 10 seconds or the target's HP is less than 30% and will target the enemy with the highest HP. In the Zodiac releases, it is only used when the remaining time left for the summon is less than 10 seconds.
