Frost Blast (ブレイズ, Bureizu?), also known as Blaze, Frost, or Freeze, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It often an Ice-elemental enemy ability or Blue Magic spell, dealing group-wide damage and inflicting the Frozen status on the targets.

Final Fantasy IV[]
Chimeras and Chimera Brains can cast Blaze to inflict a large amount of Ice damage. In the Complete Collection version, the attack is called "Frost Blast".
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-[]
Frost Blast is an ability used by Chimeras and Chimera Brains. It inflicts moderate ice-elemental damage to one or more targets.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
Chimera can use Frost Blast to deal massive ice-elemental damage to all characters.
Final Fantasy V[]
Frost (Blaze on the SNES and PlayStation) is an enemy ability that deals Ice-elemental damage to all party members and may inflict Sap. It is used by Bahamut, Blue Dragon, Famed Mimic Gogo, Gorgimera, Jura Aevis, Lesser Lopros, Chimera Brain, Nereid, and Wendigo.
The player may utilize this ability by catching and releasing a Mythril Dragon or Archeosaur.
Final Fantasy IX[]
Hades uses Frost.
Frost (Freeze in the European release) is a Blue Magic learned by Quina. The spell has a chance of freezing its target and can be learned by eating a Wraith holding a blue candle, a Chimera, or the Crystal World version of Kraken.
A frozen target cannot move or act, and if hit by a physical attack, they will be KO'd. A Fire-elemental spell will neutralize the status, and it can be prevented with the Body Temp passive skill. The spell has a 30% base accuracy and costs 8 MP to cast.
Agares, Black Waltz 3, Drakan, Hades, Kraken, Kraken (Crystal), and Vepal (Green) use Freeze against the party.
