Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm RebornEdit

Francel is accused of heresy due to the discovery of a draconian rosary in his belongings, the most recent of House under accusation. Due to increasing pressure from the authorities, he cannot aid the player, Alphinaud, or Cid in the search for the missing airship Enterprise. He instead directs them to Lord Haurchefant of Camp Dragonhead.

Haurchefant later dispatches the player to aid Francel and his men when they are waylaid by Aevis near the Steel Vigil. It is eventually discovered that House Haillenarte is being framed as heretics, and Haurcherfant and the player stage a rescue at Witchdrop before he is executed by Inquisitor Guillaime.

Final Fantasy XIV: ShadowbringersEdit

When the Firmament reconstruction project is started, Francel is chosen to be the project overseer and, thanks to his influence, offers the Warrior of Light an exemption from requiring a work permit. Francel shares their desire to make Firmament a place of prosperity for all but recognizes that there is still a long way to go.
