I think that they should port Final Fantasy VII and VIII for the DS or the 3DS. IX can come too.Wikiguy 00:51, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Why? There is no need for them to be on the DS. A Wiimake is better off. It can incorporate Miis as playable characters and can use any weapon and any Limit. | |||
Sony pretty much has their hands on FFVII and whatever it goes on (FFVII on PS, AC done by Sony Pictures, DoC on PS2, CC on PSP). And I doubt Squeenix will let Nintendo have it for the 3DS when they can just remake it for the PS3.63.118.23.24 15:37, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. A PS3 remake seems much more likely and to be honest, the graphics are superior on the PS3. The Wii/DS graphics do add to the experience of the older games in the series though. Why bother with Xbox SE? Whyyyy! Mog&Boko 09:04, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Apparently to them, the console with the better graphics (XBox 360) would sell more than the console with the better gaming experience (Wii/DS). The PS3 stays no matter what. | |||
Then what about VIII and IX? Tactics got released over Playstation and Nindendo consoles, and look at XII, the game was on PS2 and the sequel was for DS.Wikiguy 08:52, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
This is what I find the problem with this sort of chopping and changing of consoles. It makes it difficult for the gamer to play a sequel to their already owned game, as is shown by the Ivalice games. Mog&Boko 12:53, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
They did that same stuff with the Kingdom hearts sequels too. The two main games are PS2, but then they went and made side games for the GBA and DS, as well as the PSP and soon to be the 3DS. Why not stick with one console, or at least one company? As far as remakes go, I want 5 and 6 in 3d first, (3d as in how from VII onward has been, not 3d like glasses type). Voice acting would be nice too, since they'll probably be on the 3ds if at all. After that, the games started becoming much more realistic, so a cutesy DS game won't work. And seeing how much better the PS3 version of XIII did than the 360 version, Why would they waste their money? Just go PS3 all the way. --Kefkaroth 02:43, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

This is what the article says: "Yoshinori Kitase: We haven't a plan to release V & VI, but it sounds like an interesting idea so we'll find out if that's possible." Where in that sentence does it confirm a remake? | |||

And seeing as though Square Enix refuse to remake VII for PS3, I highly doubt that they'd do VIII or IX. And it's not DS they're talking about remaking V and VI on; it's 3DS (the next thing, with the graphics of X). So it won't be III, IV, V, VI, Vii and VIII on DS; it'll probably be V, VI, VII and VIII on 3DS. And if it's on (3)DS, then it'll be getting a wider variety of people in to play Final Fantasy. There are many people out there who'd be happy with any sort of remake, not just a HD one.
Also, the whole V/VI thing, they're still just taking about remaking them. They said they can't be remade for DS, so thry're going to concider 3DS. It's unlnown if they will be remade or not (though judging by the circumstances, Square Enix's main problem with the remakes is not technical difficulties, but when they finish remaking VI, the next one on the list is VII).
Anyway, I can't see why they can't just release VIII or IX to 3DS, if VII is so much of a problem.Wikiguy 23:56, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
