I'm currently working on Hell Wyrm (with a lv 50 party lol) and after I was planning to go back into the Shadowseer hunt. I went in there before but I couldn't make heads or tails with the dark rooms. How many dark orbs are you supposed to put in the pedestals anyway and which way do I go? Someone help...
Heloooo...Anyone? | |||
I don't remember how many goes into each pedestal but I know you need a total of 150-185 dark orbs.
I'm working on this one myself. I just accidently wandered into a Boss Fight with Phoenix, who was pathetically easy. In each of the four corners of the level (I imagine that their might be several floors to the Penumbra), there are little pedastels in which you must place so many dark orbs. Place them one at a time, until you get a nice big ol' purple flash, lighting that corner. I bet you five bucks you have to do each of the four corners. To get a lot of Dark Orbs easily, kill an enemy in one of the dark corners, then let the orb fly away. Whichever direction it goes will tell you where you can find a Super Dark Orb (or something like that). Simply face that direction, and turn on your floor map with SELECT. The Super Dark Orb will be in one of the four corners. When you touch the Super Dark Orb, you gain a whole ton of Dark Orbs.
See, the thing is, U gotta avoid the frogs, horses and skeletons in the circle, they give litterally nothing. once ur inside, kill the ennemies, wait till some orb comes and follow the direction where the orbs fly away. Dead ennemies usually makes ghosts appears (duh!) they certainly gives orbs. And u also want to kill the ever spawning skeletons cuz u may have lots of orbs there. BUT WAIT!!! this is the most important part: NEVER give too much orbs in each light (too much and the light will just swallow the orbs) the trick is to give 1 by 1. Sure it sounds long, but u wont regret it.
You'll need to refer to the Map of the Subterra for this one, and imagine Up as North, Down as South, Right as East and Left as West. Here goes:

UPDATE: Shadowseer is no more. He beat me the first time (well, actually Phoenix beat me, got to give credit where credit is due), but then I came back and took him down. I'd say it was luck mostly. The Mark kept on using "Fearga" on Fran, who was nice and away from my other two characters because she's using the Formuhault. Now it's onto Behemoth King, then to the Superbosses. And I have yet to use Vaan since the Leviathan! He ain't no hero in my game! HA!
I see Blue brought out his handy-dandy cheat guide a.k.a strategy guide. No BH Vaan is a good main character since I used him the whole game. Best party to take in this part is Vaan, Ashe, and Balthier and have two Ultima Weapons and Masamune to Balthier for his good accuracy and speed this will allow him to more combos and if he has Genji glove no matter what 8 hit combo of 7000 baby.
| |||
Hardly. I beat that guy in a single try, he was just a slightly beefed-up Pyrlaster. The immunity to attacking got annoying, but I'm a patient man so I won easily. Zodiark on the other hand, he never let you attack at all! I spent twenty minutes waiting for him to start again before his attack killed off all three of my characters with that instant-death thing. So I came back and destroyed him by spamming "Shock". Now only three bosses remain:

The tournesol does do wonders once you get the necrahol of nabudis. I received it and it has been my second best friend ever since I equipped it. The hell wyrm GET EXCALIBUR! Paired with the genii gloves, berserk bravery, focus ( more damage at full health), and haste, that character will be doing massive damage in a heart beat. Omega.. the only way I have defeated it was wiith a reverse decoy strategy and not to use berserk! You must heal and not have a character just attack him.
BH Tournesol is nothing special it deals the same as Ultima Weapon so just go get Hell Wyrm already. With the estimate amount of damage you'll do it will maybe take 40 minutes to an hour. When you go face the Hell Wyrm have Protect, Shell, Haste, Bravery, and Faith do all that to all of your party members and one more thing have lot and lots of X-Potions or have some on HP>10%=Renew Gambit on everyone got it?

Late as always. I beat Hell Wyrm last night because my baby cousins came over and they had to watch me play. They got bored of me trying to summon up Vorres for a Soul Powder, so I teleported to that dungeon below Archades and started up a fight with it. I didn't actually want to beat Hell Wyrm right there and then, but it turned out to be easy enough that I pulled it off. Only took me about 35 minutes (which is still ridiculously long for a boss fight, I should add). I also never bother with "Renew" or X-Potions, "Curaja" works much better because it heals all three of your characters. And I don't really use "Faith" either, because I only use physical attacks unless I really really have to use spells for some reason. Onto Omega. I figure with only a million HP he would have to be easier then Yiazmat. But I'm getting that sword first. No Zodiark Spear, I am not fucking around waiting for a one-in-a-thousand drop, and even then the Chest in the Henne Mines never appears.
You think Omega is easier than Yiazmat, WRONG! His tactics are scarier than Yiazmat and second of all the normal boss music plays which I may say sucks so put on some good fighting music that I may doesn't suck. The key to beating Omega is to keep running out of the area after taking out 500000 and go to the save crystal super quick after taking that much damage out of him.

I didn't know it was gonna be that tedious just to put in a bunch of dark orbs...oh well gotta give it a try...and by the way, how come the Waystone is taken off?
Well I decided to tackle the Subterra and Lo and Behold, I stumble upon Ixion in the circular Penumbra and I managed to beat it with my Level 60 party of Vaan, Ashe, and Penelo and I was happy to get the Ragnarok greatsword as a bounty. Now I just need to beat Fafnir, Gilgamesh and Shadowseer before I face the other superbosses. I've been leveling up Balthier, Fran, and Basch in the Necrohol of Nabudis too so I can keep a well rounded party before heading into the superbosses.
|
Hmm that's too bad...oh well. As for the Ixion thing I barely defeated it with a party of level 50 somethings...At this level, can anyone suggest any good grinding spots? The High Reavers in the Penumbra seem to be way too strong...As for the Hell Wyrm, it became harder to defeat once I brought it down to like 10 dots of life, so I gave up. Do I really have to be about level 60 to actually defeat the Hell Wyrm?
Well, Chocolancer, I was level 61 when I beat Hell Wyrm not even an hour ago and it took me about an hour to beat him and I had to adjust my gambits so that the characters were constantly Hasted and set to cast Curaja when he uses Invert. I had to turn Invert into an advantage and good timing with my gambits to beat him when his health was very low. I strongly suggest bringing a bunch of Ethers, Remedies, and Gold Needles and I mean A BUNCH. In the end, Montblanc will give you 50,000 Gil as a reward, so it's definitely worth it, Chocolancer. I recommend that you are level 60+ when you challenge Hell Wyrm. Good luck, and may the Force be with you, young Jedi!
LOL thanks =) | |||
