What the hell is this anyway? One-sided fights at the DNC? Failures at Magicite Madness copying? Useless Recent Change-flooding Stories? Vandal attacks?CSM - I beg of you with all my heart! WE NEED MAGICITE MADNESS II!
Well, he is sorta right, we need something to keep people interested here, not just one-sided DNC battles, or the such, we need some attention getter. any ideas?
Uhm....Hello?"CSM - I beg of you with all my heart! WE NEED MAGICITE MADNESS II!" <-!!!
We already had Magicite Madness. We'll do it again in five years. 128 characters wasn't good enough for you?I'd bring it back if I had the patience. In the meantime you can go hunting for the old topics and listen to us rant.
5 years?!? o.O... Ok ='(
You all need to chill out about DNC fights. First of all, this week isn't one sided. Second, and this may sound harsh but its true, I'd also like to point out that none of you--those who are crying about the DNC--really have authority to change the way anything is run around here. You cannot decree something is democratic and make it so. Historically, that requires guns. A lot of us have been here a log time, even before the DNC exist. I would hope we have better things to do than mill about the talk page voting on things we should vote on and arguing why people should choose other votes, none of which have any real or implied chronology. Actually, that makes me think of something! Perhaps you all could go edit an article in the main namespace. That'd be grand.PS: To whom it may concern, the size of your text does not increase my will to read it and may, in fact, inversely effect the likelihood anyone will take it seriously.
I beg the admins of the FFWiki, please steer this FFWiki back to what it was, is and should be (which I know you guys are wise enough to guess what).
What TA said. There are far too many users on this wiki who don't pull their own weight. Yes, you can just play with the little games we make to ammuse you, but that also means that since you have not proven yourselves willing to improve this website. Eat what we feed you, and don't complain. It can all go away, just like that.
Here's a farfetched idea. We could just cut all the extra useless junk that serves no purpose anyway and focus on, oh I don't know, finishing some of these or expanding some of those. I know, it may sound WAY crazy to do Final Fantasy related work on the FFWiki but hot-diggety, it does sound more useful than making more no-point fora and Magicite Madness Spin-offs, doesn't it? IS THIS A DRASTIC IDEA OR WHAT?!?! DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!!!
Well, this is enough evidence that the admins (even if its just half of them) are also tired of all the forum posts and all those stuff not related to Final Fantasy flooding the recent changes. (That's for you DMD).Just cut the no-point Waystone fora. Cut all those whatBShaveyou. I have been actively contributing. I'd like to see all our new editors doing the same. I'd like to see more Final Fantasy.
Posting to voice my agreement with TA, Bluer, BH, and Hecko. Sorry, CSM. :(
Bluerfn has pointed out to me on IRC that I am the only admin not to have made their own point made yet. So, here I am, making points.I am currently contributing to articles, and as long as I can do that uninterrupted, I'm as sound as a pound. I will gladly and blindly follow the majority on this point, just as long as I get to edit articles.
So get rid of all the community fostering and become an encyclopedia? Sorry, I'm against that. I'll admit the Waystone has gotten out of hand, and we should try to limit it's use (and get rid of that dumb "I saw this in a book once" topic, which is really screwing things up), but I will not allow censorship of ANY KIND on this wiki.
So like I said, go write something and stop bitching. If you're patient, I have a big surprise for the Wiki which will involve all of you I will reveal in late May. But in the meantime go write something. Edit articles. Especially ones that sound farfetched at first like the battle articles such as the Battle of Cleyra article.
I don't want to censor anybody, but I don't want to have a forum of bitching.
And shut up about the "one-sided" BS; as far as I know I only did ONE one sided fight on the DNC (Necromancer vs. Festival Goer) which was intended to be a joke so I could laugh at people who actually voted for the festival goer.So like everyone said. Shut up and go edit something. Many of us have pulled our own weight, and this weekend I will get back to work on the comic I have planned for the FFIV walkthrough (I've just had a rough schedule lately with homework and exams and such I can't really take on a long term project at the moment). Yes, the activities are to attract a large community. But we have a whole friggin' database that still needs a LOT of work! Find your area of expertise already finished? Write a walkthrough for it. Don't think like AK did. No one has a monopoly on anything. Edit stuff. Seriously.
CSM: I didn't mean that as a slight to you if that was anything I said about one-sidedness.I tend to think that I do a pretty good job in my tenure as the Dragonmaster. An analysis of the fights from Red vs. Blue to the magicite madness yields what is listed below. For the most part, they were pretty close and even some of the close ones were not necessarily not fun.
- Freya v. Kain - 50% / 50%
- Zorn/Thron v. Palom/Porom 52%/48%
- Agrias v. Ashe 53% / 47%
- Tidus v. Vaan - 53% / 47%
- Montblanc v. Mog - 54% / 46%
- Penance v. Yaizmat - 54% / 46%
- Auron v. Vincent - 58% / 42%
- Aeris v. Rosa - 59% / 41%
- Red(Mage) v. Blue(Mage) - 64% / 36%
- Basch v. Balthier - 66% / 33%
- Marche v. Ramza - 74% to 26%
- Gullwings v. Turks - 84% / 16%
TA...you're being redundant. Stop pushing the same button! We already understood that the DNC is not as one-sided as people say! The DNC was never relevant here! What is relevant is that boredom infest the wiki, as well as nonsensical and redundant threads!
I'm gonna drop my two cents in here. First, it seems that some users blame The Waystone for making this Wiki "non-Final Fantasy." And, you know what, I never thought it would be so big. But most of the topics on it would've just appeared here at Rin's anyway. Also, most of the people here that claim that this wiki has become boring isn't doing anything. I hardly ever find myself bored at this Wiki, I can only remember two times when I really had nothing to do here. Most of the walkthroughs are undone, and they don't take too much time or any real effort to do. I can write walkthrough for Disc One and Two of Final Fantasy IX without even playing the game again (I have played that part of the game quite a bit, though). People complain about me not doing anything, but I'm not doing anything big because I'm not bored. I plan to write a walkthrough for Final Fantasy Tactics PSP soon (and don't give me crap about there already being two walkthroughs of it, neither of them have been fully completed). Now, I'm gonna go and play World Of Warcraft. Have a nice day. -- DMD
