Goldberry2000 - That was a rhetorical question, and the answer was my fist TALK - Sandbox 00:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Right, I'm not going to university this year, I'm taking a gap year, so I'm going to be alot more active from this point onwards. This is especially aided by the fact that my PSP and DS are both fixed, so I have a bunch of games to be getting on with in my do-nothing-days to come. But I digress; those of you that have been around a while will remember the wiki-wide fanfic I wanted to get started a year or so ago and never did. Well now I want to again. I appreciate that not everyone has... well... forever to spend on the wiki working on it, and quite the contrary I wouldn't want that. I want some idea of who would be interested if we actually get it started properly. For those that don't know, the proposed fanfic is to be written in the style of the Canterbury Tales by (first name eludes me at this time) Chaucer. To further explain for people who don't know, or simply can't deal with reading things written in old english, the Canterbury Tales were basically done in the format that follows: Main Story (Frame Tale):
Tales:

Its Geoffrey Chaucer. I don't actually have any interest in this project, I just needed to tell you that.
Well, well, GB2K is finally here. Like you, I'm taking a sabbatical from higher education but this is for reasons beyond my control in real life. Count me in on this Canterbury Tales Project. Should we do this in FF style and call it the Final Fantasy Crystal Tales or something like that? BTW, I've read some parts of The Canterbury Tales and some of them have sexual innuendos according to my high school English teacher, so I'm sure that we can do without those in this project since some kids read this site too.
8bit BlackMage - Beyond the Sky TALK - Why do chemists call helium, curium, and barium 'the medical elements'? Because, if you can't 'helium' or 'curium', you... um... ._.; - {{{time}}}
GB, could you elaborate further on the format of the Wiki fanfic? It is basically a collection of individual, unrelated fanfics written by different editors, or are there certain stipulations that serve to unite all the stories?
Being written in Old English, there were no base spellings; words are spelled like the sound I'd be veeery careful with this. Some of the more
Sounds like fun. I'll join, too.
i did something like this in highschool for english, im willing to do it again for the Wiki, count me in

Right, that's a few replies, right there. Let's get to responding, eh?

GB, I notice you frequently begin your sentences with "Right". :P That naming convention would fit well with the original Canterbury Tales, and I think it would be cool to have a litany of stories titled with FF job class (The Evoker's Story, Part III), but it doesn't really matter to me. You can count me in as well.
I have a few questions:

Rocking Chair - She looks like the real thing, tastes like the real thing. My Fake Plastic Love TALK - {{{time}}}
Rocking Chair does not associate in any projects that do not include Bono

I can be a help as well. If you need some of those godly bad maps I make or some portuguese vocabuary to give some lyric touches (X3) to the fanfic feel free to ask. ^_^
So this has to be fanfiction? If not I might be game. Only problem is that tastefulness rule. That's not cool, G.
Goldberry2000 - That was a rhetorical question, and the answer was my fist TALK - Sandbox 21:38, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
It has to be an in-universe (your own, or borrowed) story; not necessarily a fanfic. Chocobo Tales, anyone? :P
Fine then. I'm in. I guess I could handle not cursing for one story. I have a few ideas floating around in my head that I would like to dump off someplace.

You're always welcome to dump here, Blue. Yes, yes I did make that joke. EDIT: Right I've got to go to bed coz I've got work in the morning. I'll next be around in about 15 hours probably. In the meantime, I want to try to choose the world we'll be writing the Frame Story in. My three favorite worlds would have to be:
| |||
Why should it be in any specific Final Fantasy world at all? This should take place in a world that is a fusion of all the Final Fantasy elements, without actually showing preference to any one game. Naturally there would be Airships (probably of the old-style "boat" Airships), Chocobo, Moogles, an evil Empire of higher technological power, a good kingdom with a kidnapped princess, and of course some evil dude out to destroy everything for Chaos's sake. We could divide the world into Kingdoms based upon the major Job Classes. And each one of the stories would have to be written by a Job. So my story would be "the Dragoon's Tale" (a nice reference to Canterbury Tales). Now all we need is a place to travel to... I don't think a pilgramage would work.

I'm surprisingly warming up to this idea. Although all my stories end up being rubbish and are too violent.
Edit conflict: FFT Ivalice sounds good to me, as it seems to have the right "flavour" to it. That could just be my Ivalice fangirl talking though, so I won't argue against a generic FF world. On a side note, it's good that it can be original, as I dislike writing fanfiction.

I like Blue's idea best so far
i definatly like Blue's idea, and in place of the pilgramage of the source material I propose they travel to this (as of present) nonspecific evil empire. and if we are already calling parts I would like to reserve "the Ninja's Tale". I would have called the theif's bit but that pretty much what i did for my school assignment.

I had a feeling Blue would grab the Dragoon's Tale right off the bat, in fact I'd intended to reserve it for him :P I actually agree that it should be some kind of Hybrid world, but in place of a pilgrimage a bid to save the world or somesuch. I.E. a group traveling to defeat a great evil, for instance, Chaos from the original FF storyline, and simply telling stories to pass the time. With the weekend coming up this can stop being hypothetical; I'll write something to this effect when I get in from work tonight.
Celes 234:I'm interested. I have a few short tales that have a moral/symbloic meaning at the end.
