While this image is awesome, we have no way of knowing yet if it is either Gabranth or Basch. While smart money is on Gabranth (XI gets a Light character, XII gets a dark one), let's just wait for some more information. Anyway, commence insane yelping over the awesomeness. | |||

I agree, but unfortunately, it looks like that's how it's going to be. But why Gabranth? Why not Vayne? | |||
Possible plot twist? Gabranth might actually be Basch, pretending to be his brother so he can infiltrate the side of Chaos. All I know is that I want to see how Nomura handled the art, since this will be his first crack at a Yoshida design. | |||

Don't worry, I'd put Gabranth too, but there are some obvious troubles there: 1) He's dead 2) He has a twin brother who now wears his armour, making them interchangable (in fact, that was the whole point) Also, the image has him apporaching Cosmos. For all we know, this scene can end with him removing his helmet and saying "Hey, it's me Basch. Sorry about the confussion, having a twin brother associated with the evil side can be annoying some times!" | |||
Yeah. Though to be fair... Mateus is dead. Kuja is dead. Sephiroth is dead...like three times.. though that doesn't seem to matter. Kefka is dead. Garland is alive, but returned to the side of good. Golbez is dead/alive but good, depending on when in the timeline this is drawn from... Point? | |||

Good point Dazuro, I kind of had a brain fart there. The reason Gabranth's death stood out so much to me is because of Revenant Wings, where Basch is seen running around in his brother's armour. | |||

Finally Dissidia proves itself to not be total shit. Too bad FFXII wasn't announced earlier, or it would have saved me loads of grief. I, for one, think its Gabranth (Noah).

Ugh...Balthier and his "I'm the leading man" spiel makes me want to stab him...Otherwise, since the villains were killed in their respective games and now alive in Dissidia, I'm 100% sure that the guy in armour is definitely gonna be Gabranth, like what BH just said. | |||

Dissidia is a "What if" story according to the director so just cause he was dead in XII doesn't mean it can't be him (in fact a lot of the villains were dead at the end of their game and are in Dissidia.) Also Shantotto says something along the lines of "Right, the future is something one has to seize by force!" while the Judge says something like "not even by force can they ensure the future" also some fan who played the Japanese version say that's definitely Gabranth's voice. | |||

Amano did a little-known drawing of the Judges, so I presume Gabranth was among them (I'm not big on XII so I didn't identify who was who when I saw it)--and since these designs are all based on Amano's stuff, not Yoshida's, it's not quite so special. | |||

Um, at this point it's not looking like a villain from FFXI and hero from FFXII are going to appear. It's been leaked that the game will only have 22 playable characters. | |||
That's bullshit. Fucking games that nobody ever liked: like that boring worthless game, FFII, get full coverage, but FFXII only gets a single character!!! FFI has nothing I would dare aggrandize by calling a character, but it has twice the number of bodies as FFXII does. This sucks. | |||

Poor fanboy. Also, it's Gabranth: His VA really resembles Gabranth in the english version, but the voice actors could be the same in the japanese version for both twins... | |||
Japanese version has separate voice actors for Gabranth and Basch. If XII got the full coverage like the other 10 games did then it'd have to follow the rules of them: main hero and main villain meaning we'd have Vaan and Vayne. So I'm glad it's just Gabranth. | |||

It's gotta be Gabranth. Shantotto and Gabranth are the secret characters as well as the only representatives from their respective games for a very good reason - They aren't unambiguously good or evil. Shantotto was chosen for Cosmos because she sides with good, but definitely has an evil side to her. Gabranth was chosen for Chaos because he is a villain, but has a good heart and struggles with his choices, evnetually redeeming himself in the end. Their ambiguity makes them the perfect choices for characters who are supposed to represent their entire game - good, bad, and everything in between. This is the same reason Gilgamesh was(and hopefully still is?) a perfect choice as another secret character - He is technically a villain, but he helps out the good guys as much as the bad. | |||

Well, either way, this is going to what I'm expecting for Dissidia. We now know that ONE of them appears. Then it's likely that THE OTHER will appear. If it's really Gabranth, like I want him to be, Basch should be in his original costume. I just want Basch in this game, even if I don't have a PSP. Here's why Basch and not Balthier of Vaan.
