		As many of you users, who have been around for a long while, know, we seem to have a major bi-annual argument on (ironically) the forum, talking about how the forum is the suxxorz and that spamming off-topic threads (and replying in them) is filling up the the RC page making the rest of us feel all emo D= We then say "Noooouuu, baaaad, forum is baaaad, no post off-topic D=" which makes the forum goers all emo and go "but we liek off-topic D=", followed by major D= and >:3 and >:D3= (<-- no idea of what it is) on both sides, and at the end of the week, nothing has actually changed except everyone is pissed. (end of summary) So, here are the two major key issues: Forum goers want their off-topic threads Everyone else don't want to be bothered by the edits in those threads, i.e. they shouldn't show up on the RC Our previous solution was quite simple; use the off-site forum. It was a complete bust. Why? Several reasons, but who cares? The bottom line is that it obviously ain't working, so what else are we gonna do? Enter solution: edit the sidebar. As some might have noticed, I've made an edit to the sidebars changing the link to the recent changes. The effect of this is that, by default, any edit made in the forum namespace does not show up in the RC, so the wiki editors are happy (lubz to me <3). Also, if you remove the tick in "Exclude namespace", just above the actual RC list, and click the button "go", you'll see nothing BUT the forum edits, so all the forum goers are happy (lubz to me <3). In conclusion, everyone are happy, we revive a space for off-topic threads, move the off-topic shiz from Rin's there, since the minor edits won't be spamming the RC any longer, and then we all have FFwiki-gasm and stop making life miserably for me since if people don't bug eachother, other people won't have to call me in to tell people how 'tarded they are (though admittedly, I do enjoy it sometimes). So this way everyone's a winner.

I don't like it. Your solution last time was just to block forum edits from RC. Though this is an okay solution, I still want to see forum threads. Now you're forcing me to not be able to view forum threads in the RC? I want to still view forum threads, but I only want to view worthwhile threads. I don't go into Forum:Index because it's all here for me in RC, where I can view over every edit.

Yes, I can just change it when I'm in RC, but I don't want to. I could just stop being an ass and look in Rin's, but I shouldn't have to.

This change doesn't effect me in the slightest, when I want to enter RC I click my on-screen bookmark that is in the centre of the screen, below the URL. My point is the RC shouldn't have stuff automatically filtered out.  ILHI ^{15:38, 15 May 2009 (UTC)}

		Really? It seems absolutely brilliant to me. This way effectively organizes the changes in two neat pages; 1: All the edits on the actual wiki, and 2: All the edits in the forum namespace. This allows you to see exactly what you want to see (work vs play) without having all the other stuff mixed in. And all you have to do to change between them now is remove/add the tick, click the button, and voila, you're good to go, no extra hastle. If you can't even be bothered to such a simple thing, then you are way too pampered ^^ But not to worry, there are other ways, such as bookmarking this page and using that to visit the FFWiki or learning how to use the watchlist more efficiently, i.e. actually watching the topics you are following instead of depending entirely on the RC =D

Nah, I already have the site bookmarked, I was just thinking for the people who aren't me. Y'know in Firefox you can drag URLs onto that bar thing at the top? Well I do that. I'm not sure if any other browsers do it, I think Opera has it on the right, and Chrome definitely has it. I think Safari does. So I'm just not sure about IE. (BTW, IE sux)

A better resolve for me would be would be just to put Rin's in RC. But that's not possible, unless we were to move Rin's into its own namespace, but I'm not completely sure of the additional re-routing that would have to be done.  ILHI ^{16:16, 15 May 2009 (UTC)}

		IE has it too, but it's pretty sub-par. I should add a link to this in the sitenotice, btw... For all the people who are all "Where did da edits go?! D=" But the solution (which is the only one that works, by the way, save for using the off-site forum or... well, that's the only alternative at the moment) is pretty good, in my opinion. And for those of you forum goers who are against this, let me just remind you that it was either this or having every off-topic thread deleted ^^

		I LOVE it! I was wondering when forum edits are gonna be excluded from the RC, now the RC will be nothing but productive edits all the way (sort of), but the downside is that I wouldn't be able to see any major updates or discussions, if there ever was any...

		Here we go again, more dumb solutions to dumb problems. Why shouldn't forum edits show up on the RC? They are recent changes, even if they're not exactly relevent ones. Although, if this doesn't work, we could always try what I suggested before and just get rid of all the forums.

		(EDIT CONFLICT) Adding informational image guide again, so people can see how to easily get nothing but the forum edits in the RC. @Lionheart: Just wanted to point out the flawed logic in wanting to get rid of fora entirely, but calling the solution that removes them from the default RC "stupid". Do you even know what it is you want..?

		The problem - people don't know what they want. The cause - while an individual person is smart, people as a collective are stupid. The solution - do what you feel is needed because no matter what you do someone is going to bitch about it. Can't please everyone.

		I don't need Recent Changes to see Forum Edits. Any ones that have been edited are highlighted in bold on the Forum hubs. I usually skip most of the ones that look boring anyway. So what?

		I've been typing that in; I just want a quick button without having to add to my already-massive bookmarks.

this is what happens when staff members pay attention to the community. A compromise was reached that pleases a large amount of people. Kudos to you X! And LET THE THREADS CONTINUE!!! 		Finally, I've been thinking about this for a while actually, and it is a good compromise, the idiots get their stupidity, and the stuck up jerks can be stuck up. Everyone wins! BTW: Hai Hecko, haven't heard, well, seen of you in a while ^_^

		Are we talking about the box on the left side of the screen below, among other things, the random page option? Because forum changes have never shown up there for me, just mainspace, talk, and user pages.

		It only effected the URL that "Recent changes" takes you to. BTW, if anybody is stubborn like me and prefers the old way, see User:Master Conjurer/Monaco-toolbox.
