This forum I'm creating to judge the general interest or disinterest for a potential Magicite Madness 3, after it was mentioned in passing on IRC awhile ago. It's been three years since MM2, which is the same amount of time between MM1 and MM2. During the past three years, we've seen the release of a few new games, including everyone's favorite, so there are new characters to have in. In addition to the new users who weren't around for MM2 and with a stable DNC situation, I believe a potential MM3 could be a great success, bringing in more traffic to the DNC at least. Bringing up the topic now for a potential tournament run date in during the summer, when everyone is generally freer. And of course, by bringing up the topic I am volunteering myself to run it. Exact rules can be discussed if this is something we decide we want to do.
To avoid the shit that occurred during MMII, we handle it the same way as we did then. Which I can't remember the exact details of but it meant making it a sub of Rin's, and embedding "Project:Magicite Madness II" which used onlyincludes.
Also, do it. Except I don't know what relationship you imagine it should have with the DNC. JBed (talk) 21:52, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
Umm...What is Magicite Madness? I saw in the past some pages related to that project and it seems to be some kind of spin-off to the DNC, except it seemed more of a tournament than fights 'just' for a show. Is there an article you think is of an exceptional quality? Vote for it here!
It's been three years since MMII? It's been a long time. I definitely wouldn't mind another Magicite Madness. MMII worked generally well (the greatest controversy no longer applies since the tie rule has been removed from the DNC). I'm not sure if we want the DNC to have a larger involvement than just hosting the final four/top two. Regardless if MMIII is a subpage of Rin's or the DNC, I'm fine with it happening and wouldn't mind helping out.

I'm cool with that. One thing that I have noticed whenever I'm on a user talk that still has posts from 2010 though, there seemed to be a lot of sockpuppetry in MMII. I wasn't around then so I don't know if that was really that much of a problem, but I'd consider making TA a checkuser before MMIII starts if it was a problem in MMII.

Sounds cool to do to me. I'm fine with running it again if people want me, but I'm not asking.

According to Help:CheckUser:

It seems like Wikia might be getting more liberal with giving out CheckUser. On the Fallout wiki they gave it to the top bcrat for getting 100k edits (although that was kinda limited to that wiki, I think). And on the RSWiki, some admin(s) have or have had it. There was also recently a thread there in which they discussed giving it to all admins, because someone apparently contacted Wikia and they said it was ok (link here). There's more vandalism there than on this wiki, but I don't think they need more than 1. Oh well. Hope that helps. --Shockstorm (talk) 01:06, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

I agree checkuser is definitely something we need to look into, but I'm unsure if wikia would grant it unless we had mainspace vandalism issues. Scathe and SCM, if you're interested in helping out we could perhaps form a committee to formulate ideas and such for the organization of this thing, it appears we have a positive enough reaction to the idea.

I really don't wanna sound weary your lives, but I still haven't gotten the answer on my question which regarded the similarities between Magicite Madness and DNC. Is there an article you think is of an exceptional quality? Vote for it here!
I think with a bit of research it is pretty self-evident. It's a character tournament. JBed (talk) 23:06, May 15, 2013 (UTC)
Alright, I know that I'm long overdue with bumping this forum. This tournament is essentially ready to launch : we have all the brackets as well as a template to use for the three-way matches (that even works in Oasis*!). when the images are cropped. It's hard to fit a three way fight in Oasis :/ As for a time to start the tournament, I'd think sometime after July 4th for us Americans. Maybe that Friday, July 5th (the bare minimum after July 4th :/), with two brackets released every week.
<3 headshots. Set up a Project:Magicite Madness III page, and if you need me to set-up Rin's and MMIII like we did with MMII, then I can (although since MMII people seems to have mastered onlyinclude). JBed (talk) 19:53, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
