I'm in need of some advice with FFVI Advance. I'm pretty much leveling up the 12 charcters I plan to take to Kefka's Tower and I need to know what a good level is to get them up to before taking on the Tower and all bosses within. Should I also try to beat the Cultist's Tower before hand? My strongest is Terra at level 50 and she knows almost every spell except for Meteor and a few new ones in the Advance game. Perhaps someone like CSM or any VI expert could help me out? Thanks.
Definitely beat that tower. You get an item (Soul of Thamasa) that allows you to use Double Magic. You only need a few powerful characters for the charge up into the tower. A least lv. 35 for everybody, you good characters should be at least lv. 45. You can trade all the cool items between you parties while in the Final Dungeon, saving you time.
I see. Thanks, BH. Any other suggestions, anyone?
Have you tried teaching Relm a lot of magic? She's a very powerful mage and could count as one of your magic powerhouses next to Terra and Celes...
I've a suggestion, THE winning suggestion, actually: the key for beating FFVI is SPAM ULTIMA.
If you take the Cult Tower (or any higher level dungeon, really) all characters should have Osmose. Trust me.

You don't need high levels for the tower. I think I was between level 40 and 50 with my party, and I was level 50 when I completed Dragon's Den and 60 when I finished it. You will need a lot of magic and the best weapons tough.

As always, CSM and I both have guides. But yet, certainly climb the Cultist Tower and get the Soul of Thamasa. And as said already, 50 is a perfectly fine level, you can whup Kefka with great ease at such a level. Just make sure everyone knows Ultima and be sure to spend some time at the Collosseum fighting for rare stuff.

Give your main attacker Genji Gloves and Master Scroll, give your mage Soul of Thamasa and Gold Hairpin, do whatever you want with the 3rd. For the last person, give them a spear if possible (if its Gau, go ahead with the Impartisan) the Dragon Horn and the Quetzalli Esper, have all 4 people get full ATB, and use Quetzalli, then before the sequence is done, give the other 3 their commands and they do it immediatly after their Jump attack.
