JBed, I notice, has been working on this. Now our skin last year, while great for noticing images that needed their white backgrounds removing, was not so well received as some users complained of difficulty reading and Jeppo ended up removing his staff member icon due to dislike of its temporary change. I spoke with JBed a night or few ago and he said last year wasn't well thought out. I said we should raise a discussion about it, which I'm doing now. So this year we should really go for it, but let's give our users the best viewing experience while we're at it.

So, does anyone have any ideas we could add to the current plans JBed has? Tia-Lewise 21:39, October 21, 2013 (UTC)

Currently view what I'm working on here. Nothing should break on-wiki except where we have not thought things through. Like the DNC voting sections, where they use the text colour of the page when they should specify a black text colour.

So yeah: as a note, whenever selecting a background colour on the wiki, you should always choose a text colour. JBed (talk) 21:43, October 21, 2013 (UTC)

I would suggest that this year we don't use a black background, that was the real killer, I think. I really like what you've come up with, the red is very striking! EDIT- Will this also work in Monobook? Tia-Lewise 21:46, October 21, 2013 (UTC)

I like the design, but would use something other than Chaos in the logo, as I don't think it fits with the Creeps style on the side. But they're light-grey-purple. I mean, it looks fine to me so I couldn't really suggest anything but I'd be happy to change it given a suggested colour.

As for the logo, I kinda agree. But I chose the colour scheme and the Creeps before choosing the logo, and then I thought that Feral Chaos fit the colour scheme. Well the example page has at least one example of a red link, and they aren't an uncommon thing in RC.

I wasn't satisfied with how a Scarmiglione logo looked, so I changed the colour and I still don't prefer it but I suppose it's a bit more consistent...? JBed (talk) 01:16, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

Well, looking at the current design JBed has, the table of contents needs recolouring and the text in the info table is barely distinguishable, but of course this can be worked on easily. The light grey really only works against the red, not on green as in the table, or white as in thumbnailed images. Tia-Lewise 18:26, October 23, 2013 (UTC)

I think that's everything for monobook, but there is easily a chance I missed something on an obscure page.

And as I said earlier, a lot of things will have to be fixed on a more manual basis. DNC and MMIII tables don't use color properties when they should, and a lot of our enemy infoboxes aren't on a class system which means we will have to edit them all individually.

Oh, and a lot of our searchboxes don't have transparency. We may consider remaking them without any text on so we can handle text on-wiki, but I believe Drake created a bunch last year we might just be able to replace them with for this occasion.
