I just started getting into Final Fantasy by beating IX, VI, VII. I LOVED those games. I heard from BlueHighwind that VIII sucked and after watching the intro on youtube, I decided that BlueHighwind might've been wrong. SORRY for not believing you BH, you are absolutely right!!! IT SUCKS!! Anyways I heard X was the BEST from a lot and then I heard it wasn't so good. So....I was wondering what was your guys' opinion since you all have played most of them. Thanks. (There is no way that FFVII is better than VI. VII can't even compare to VI)

Well, since you asked.... NOTE: There are spoilers in that essay! I actually rather liked VIII, but I can see why some people don't. That's just me, though. You, and BH, go ahead not liking it.

The good things about FFX far out-weigh the bad. The Sphere Grid was interesting, the battle system was nice, and most of the characters were compelling (The exceptions being Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku). Definitely worth getting.
I liked FFX. Good overall story, albeit a bit mushy and annoying at times, great FMV sequences, absolutely LOVED the fighting system (in sense of, you could "see" several turns ahead, in terms of attack order) and Blitzball is nothing short of absolute genius. They could turn that into an independent game, if you ask me. So it's definetely worth buying

I guess I'll give you the short version, too. I hated the characters. For the most part, they were annoying and stupid, and I didn't like their designs (thanks Nomura... -_-). I didn't like the story much, either. It just seemed silly to me. The voice acting was atrocious and nigh impossible for me to listen to without cringing. Those are the basics of my opinions on FFX. You can always go to my essay for more, albeit spoiler-ridden, opinions.
Well FFX was the game that got me into Final Fantasy so I think it is a great game
Final Fantasy X is one of my favorite Final Fantasies of the series. I like not having the ATB because it gives the player time to plan ahead in difficult fights. This would be any better if there were any difficult fights though. FFX is, in my opinion, the easiest Final Fantasy of the series. It has a great story though, I actually really liked Tidus as a main hero. There is a huge plot twist at the end that will have you absolutely flabergasted (hehe, I love that word) and will keep you playing non stop to the end. If you're planning on getting another Final Fantasy though, I suggest XII. XII is my favorite. The battle system is really different but I absolutely adore that game. Anyway X is my third favorite Final Fantasy, behind XII and VII. It's definately worth getting unless you decide to get XII instead which I highly recommend.
I'd say the FFX is over-rated. Good game, just not great. Certainly not the best in the series, by any means. The Battle System was excellent, but the overall presentation just seemed lazy and unfinished. The characters were mostly lame (but not Auron or Yuna), and the world seemed slapped together without much care. Often simply moving around the area was a pain in the ass, and too much of it was just a straight line. Not to mention the lack of quality voice acting. I'd say that out of all the FFs I've played, its about right there in the middle. Below FFV, but above FFII. But its God compared to FFVIII. That game is just an abomination through and through. (except Edea)
Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6. TALK - 20:30, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
The pros:
The cons:

FFX may not be the best FF, but it was the one that got me started with FF. Everyone thinks Tidus had the most annoying voice, but I think that would probably go to Seymour, and I like what you said about FFVIII. I hate that game.
Hiron- I really liked it. The story was really good. The ending was alittle sad (in a good way) but I'm a romantic, wat can I say?

The characters suck (except Auron and Lulu), but the Aeons and the gameplay are reasons for buying this game. In overall, it's awsome.
this game holds a special place in my heart ( my first fantasy ^^) it's damn easy with just a little training is pretty easy with no-training. It's rather linear and there are almost no side quest. the gameplay is awesome and the characters are ALL good. Except Kimahri, he's good until you get auron. The game have many pros and cons but it's definitively a good start for the beginners. Play it, you have nothing to lose
I pretty much agree with you, Pablo. ALL the characters are awesome. I blame everything bad on the voice acting because that's pretty much it(I mean Cloud is awesome but if his voice actor sucked and Cloud was having one of those moments where he didn't know who he was, then I probably would've hated Cloud. Especially when Cloud was too scared, if Cloud had a wierd voice actor I would probably think Cloud is a wuss). FFX is really good and is my second favorite after IV and right before IX. It'll be worth it.

Apart from some of the more annoying characters (Seymour and just about every other Guado...maybe I'm just racist) everything was awesome. I'm pretty meh about blitzball, though; I could never get any experience.
