So right now Scathe's LP of FFVI is chugging along nicely. And I thought - for fun, of course - that our wiki could expand its ambition a bit and move on to one of the least loved games of the Final Fantasy series: Mystic Quest. Why? Four reasons:
So obviously I'd be hosting this LP, running it more or less the same way Scathe has been doing it, off Skype calls, recording that. 90% of all the technical needs are already complete, all I'll need is human volunteers. I'm going to try to run this a bit faster than Scathe, since this isn't the big project, its a sideshow. I'll try to record two hours a week, using whatever people are around at those times to help me out. I kinda want to get this all done before classes start in late August for me, so we'll be chugging along nicely. Sign-ups below, anybody can join, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be on the LP. If all goes well, the first hour should be recorded by the end of next week. Thanks. (And if nobody sign-ups, I'll just fly solo. ;_;) UPDATE: Oh, applicants, please send me your Skype info over my email.

Okay, I'm about to start recording the raw gameplay footage for the first hour. I'm thinking the first "episode" will cover up until the first Crystal, and it will altogether be only five episodes in length (four Crystals + Final Boss = 5). The actual LPing should be going forward this weekend, depending on availability, sign-ups won't close until Monday. So if my buddy JBed wants in, or anybody else, you still have time.

First video is up, unlisted. So here's a link to youz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRMsnkUIuX8&feature=youtu.be I've decided I still don't feel like closing sign-ups at least until second video is uploaded. Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mua-Bb0VnTg&feature=youtu.be

Wait until we complete the first Let's Play for fuck's sake. - Henryacores^ 03:23, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- O.o That's unnecessary language there, Henry. I think this is a fantastic idea. And, I can't wait to hear Blue's smexeh voice. >_> - Tidus357 03:24, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- No it's not: it's a hasty idea, and we should concentrate on our current project rather than getting ahead of ourselves. - Henryacores^ 03:27, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not asking for much involvement out of the wiki other than a few hours of a couple of user's time. I think we can afford to be slightly less conservative. If I get enough worries from people, I'll just subtract the FFWiki label and call it "BlueHighwind LPs Mystic Quest", and move this down to the Zi'tah forum. --BlueHighwindツ 03:29, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

- I'd disagree. Remember that FFVI takes ~30 hours to complete -- and while we can crop out a few hours for failed attempts / grinding, that's still, at 1 hr/wk, 25 weeks or so to finish (around 6 months, for cryin' out loud). Which means it'd take a long time to finish a single game. Later games can take 80 hours or so to finish. Like it or not, this makes the most sense. C A T U S E 03:48, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not going to get into scheduling/logistics and all that, but I support this general idea. MQ looks like a lovely game~ Shockstorm (talk) 03:40, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
I'd watch that much rather than FFVI. :) Let's Plays where you're a bit unfamiliar with the stuff is often better unless you're doing it for a walkthrough-type thing and want to show every secret. Plus I don't think MQ is even that terrible. ;) Easy as hell though.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 04:04, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- Agreed, watching this blind would be fun :D There's probably an excess of people willing to participate in an LP, and if each project has a different host, there's really no restriction on LPing more than one game at a time, in my opinion.8bit 04:57, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT: Of course, if there is a large excess of people, I would be willing to not take part as I'm already participating in the VI LP. 8bit 04:58, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
Mystic Quest?? 79.69.195.219 12:46, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
- No, not that one. The Mystic Quest on the SNES. Though, Final Fantasy Adventure is an idea, that's even more obscure, lol. But if we really wanted to achieve something, an LP of FFVII: Before Crisis would be incredible. --BlueHighwindツ 14:20, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry BH, I don't have the audio equipment to join (or satisfactory audio equipment that isn't a built in mic to my laptop which I operate in a room where people will come in and out and stay). I'll have to pass on this one. JBed (talk) 15:55, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
- ;_; I don't really have anything more than a laptop mic either, and well... I sounded like crap in Scathe's vids, but that's not my mic's fault, it was an Audacity problem. Maybe one day... ----BlueHighwindツ 16:03, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
I started watching the video, but you can't expect people to spend an hour straight watching a part of an LP. 79.69.196.230 16:00, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
- Youtube has pause buttons. You can watch what you want, when you want, JBed. ----BlueHighwindツ 20:24, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
This seems pretty interesting, I know you said sign ups where only up to the second video. But would it possible for me to still sign up if there are any free spots for the third or fourth video? I'd like to talk about this game. (Arvilino (talk) 23:06, August 10, 2012 (UTC))
