Hey everyone! My name is KirbiMiroir, and you may know me as the author of Final Fantasy III = Impossible. My question here - what am I supposed to do near the end of Final Fantasy V? My party is shown below...

  • Henry Lv.32 (Knight/Mystic Knight)
  • Lenna Lv.31 (Black Mage/Ranger)
  • Faris Lv.32 (White Mage/Summoner)
  • Krile Lv.32 (Blue Mage/Time Mage)

I've tried getting the tablet from the Deep Sea Trench (Which I can't find because of one certain floor), I've tried grinding in the Great Pyramid of Moore, I've even tried running headlong into the Interdimensional Rift! But nothing seems to work towards what I truly need. If anyone has a solution (Saying that, I know JC Holy Knight's gonna jump straight in and help), that'd be great. This includes the upcoming fights against Exdeath and even Neo Exdeath.

Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 08:36, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

Try to get the Mime job because it's very strong. Get all twelves legendary weapons. Go get the Brave Blade for free (if you never or barely ran away from battles it'll be the strongest weapon in the game). Exdeath is not a joke final boos like other FF final bosses. he kicks asses and if you don't have the Mime job with most of the important jobs mastered, he's gonna kill you like some flies. The third world is open and you should visit all the optional dungeons and quests to collect the rewards before entering the Rift. Monterossa (talk) 09:04, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

Uh... thanks! I've already got the Mime job. My only issue is which of Freelancer or Mime is better, after a character masters both their jobs (Krile's already mastered her jobs). I mean, the Freelancer can use all the equipment, but the Mime can mimic abilities... I'm confused! In addition, how can I unlock Istory Falls? And is there any way through the Deep Sea Trench? I get stuck the moment I go through the waterfall! Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 09:09, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

  • I think Freelancer is better than Mime.
  • Tips for the Great Sea Trench from the dungeon article: "The random encounters in this dungeon are undead. Therefore, an easy way to get through is to use the Bard's Sing ability to continuously cast Requiem to deal several thousand points of damage to monsters for no MP. A Geomancer is also a useful addition to the party as not to take damage from the lava floors while traveling."
  • To go to Istory Falls you have to go through the underwater cave near the falls. Monterossa (talk) 10:55, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

Disregard what has been said about the Brave Blade earlier. The Chicken Knife is the best weapon in the game. Hexed 13:28, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

O-okay! I've decided to fight Odin and obtain him as a summon. After I do that, I'll get the other two tablets (If anyone knows the way through Great Sea Trench, that'd be great) and aim to obtain Leviathan and maybe even Bahamut before rushing to the Interdimensional Rift and defeating Neo Exdeath... somehow!

However, I have a question - do I need to get four legendary weapons out of the twelve, or should I only use three and have Faris equipped with a Healing Staff? And what equipment is most suitable for the jobs I'm using (See above)?

Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 20:00, November 21, 2015 (UTC)

I think this walkthrough page is all you'll need to know about how to go through the Great Sea Trench and Istory Falls, where you'll find Leviathan (beware any possible spoilers!). As for the equipment, The articles on the Jobs and Weapons of the game on this Wiki show that:
  • Knight: Use Knight Swords - Good ones are the Brave Blade (if you aren't used to run from battles), Excalibur (Legendary) and Ragnarok (dropped from Shinryu);
  • Black Mage: Unless under very especific situations, Magus Rod all the way (Legendary);
  • White Mage: Can use staves or knives. If you tend to run a lot, the Chicken Knife can be a good idea, though I'm not sure; for staves, use the Sage one (Legendary) or the Judgement Staff (steal by Black Warlock and Istory Lythos);
  • Blue Mage: They use rods or swords. If you can, get the Ultima Weapon (dropped by Neo Shinryu) or else use the Enhancer (found in Istory Falls).
If you want to keep Faris exclusively on the healing duty, use the Healing Staff (though magic is there for that), if you want her to deal some damage too then use the weapon above. I didn't play this version of the game, so I hope this information is useful; if anyone have better information, please put it here. JC Holy Knight (talk) 01:33, November 22, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks! I've now obtained Odin, Meteor and three more Legendary Weapons. However, I'm having trouble trying to enter Istory Falls. I could ask Apoqliphoth (Thank the stars he wrote a Walkthrough) for help, or just exhaust Boko trying. But on the more optimistic side, how easy is it to get to Istory Falls? I am aware I don't have to fight Leviathan on my first journey through - and in addition, how can I reach Phoenix Tower? Thanks Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 18:22, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

I saw a Let's Play video of FFV that has shown something new for me: the entrance is underwater! You have to dive south of the falls to find the passage (a cave). As for the Phoenix Tower, I saw in another video that you'll need a Black Chocobo (if I remember well, they can fly over mountains and land only on forests), to land near the tower and walk to it. Okay! I now have all four tablets and, before I head off, I need to make one last check! Here's my party thus far...

Name Portrait Current Job Jobs Using Level Equip
Henry FFV iOS Bartz Portrait Mystic Knight FFV Bartz Knight iOS FFV Bartz Mystic Knight iOS 35 Excalibur, Crystal Shield, Crystal Helm, Crystal Armour, Protect Ring
Lenna Ioslenna Ranger FFV Lenna Black Mage iOS FFV Lenna Ranger iOS 34 Artemis Bow, Tiger Mask, Diamond Plate, Diamond Armlet
Faris Faris-ffv-ios-portrait Freelancer FFV Faris White Mage iOS FFV Faris Summoner iOS 35 Sage's Staff, Aegis Shield, Ribbon, White Robe, Flame Ring
Krile IOS Krile Portrait Freelancer FFV Krile Blue Mage iOS FFV Krile Time Mage iOS 35 Enhancer, Crystal Shield, Black Cowl, Black Garb, Kaiser Knuckles

Here are some other statistics of my progress so far!

  • White Magic: All

  • Time Magic: All
  • Summons: All except Catoblepas, Phoenix, Bahamut
  • Blue Magic: Goblin Punch, Vampire, Flash, Dark Spark, Aero, Aera, Flame Thrower, Lillputian Lyric, Aeroga, Aqua Breath

So, what do you think? Am I all ready to face the Interdimensional Rift? If not, what should I do? Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! (talk) 16:53, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

EDIT: I'm now in the Rift, all my party members Level 38 and all summons (Except Catoblepas) available. However, I currently have decided that Exdeath's tree form is strictly OP. Any hints for me? I'm seriously not going to win this one without a way out the forest area to the Catapult-themed place, nor will I win without four Elixirs or a Cottage. Hi! I'm KirbiMiroir! I think the best way to help you is link you directly to this page, that shows the best strategies to bring this guy down. But I suggest you to be in a much better condition in the final battle, there is something far worse than him coming sooner than you imagine (light it up only if you really want to know, or if you know it all along):
Spoilers: Neo Exdeath!
