Bumping this because the Dissidia character pages have been edited and reverted infinite times during the past week. IF YOU'RE GOING TO ADD AN ENGLISH VOICE ACTOR TO A CHARACTER PAGE, PLEASE PROVIDE A LINK TO AN OFFICIAL SOURCE EITHER HERE OR ON THE RESPECTIVE CHARACTER'S TALK PAGE. This does not include "It sounds like her, and I always assume correctly", "He was the voice actor in <previous game>, so it's obvious", or "IMDB/random unofficial site says so". Please back your edits up with reliable information, or the character pages will be locked to absolve this issue. Thanks for reading.

Although I haven't posted or edited in quite some time, it feels good to be back on the FFWiki! But enough about me, this concerns the topic at hand. While scanning the Dissidia character subpages, I noticed that Warrior of Light will be voiced by Grant George in the English localization. OK, so that's one down, several characters to go. If I may, I suggest that whenever an English voice actor is OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED to voice a character, that anyone with the info please post on their page as well as this forum topic, just so people who check one or the other will know either way. This doesn't mean we can go ahead and list someone who has done a certain character before like Steve Burton as Cloud just yet, just to avoid any false reporting until it's confirmed. Highly possible he could, don't get me wrong, but nothing's official yet. Basically, NO SPECULATION. OK, now then, I ask again that this thread be used to list English Dissidia voice actors as they are revealed. Thanks. ;)

A proper link to the source on the summary when adding this kind of stuff makes this thread worthless. This kind of announcements needs sources (Dubious cover anyone?), and people should inform themselves whether when add or deleting.

I was about to revert that edit myself when I checked the link. At first it looked like one of those nonsense sites that exist only to take up Internet real estate, but when I looked further down, it was legitimate as far as I can tell. Also, I can't imagine that Grant George, despite how talented an actor he might be, has any fans rabid enough to lie about his future credentials.
I just Got this from IMDB, Its the "Credited Cast" for some Dissidia Characters.
Is it real? or Will it be real?
Steve Burton ... Cloud Strife (voice: English version)
Yuri Lowenthal ... Cecil Harvey (voice: English version)
James Arnold Taylor ... Tidus (voice: English version)
Doug Erholtz ... Squall Leonhart (voice: English version)
George Newbern ... Sephiroth (voice: English version)
Gregg Berger ... Jecht (voice: English version)
Devil Breaker 14:32, 18 May 2009 (UTC) PS, I don't know if this is real yet. Please notify me if it is.
IMDB is user-submitted. It would be like sourcing this place. Drake Clawfang 15:34, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
The question is, is IMDB or any user-submission site a reliable source? These actors all could be likely since they have voiced their respective characters at least once before. However, I'm not going to jump to conclusions just yet and edit the pages. --Tex Howdy! 20:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Update! JAT confirmed that he did voicework for Dissidia a month ago, and, of course, he shall reprise his role as Tidus. And from what he heard, the characthers currently VA also repraised their previous roles. Check IMDB for more info!
Do you have a link for this info cause IMDB has jack.
Here. But he doesn't confirm everyone else is back, he just says that's what he heard and even acknowledges he didn't record with them. It's like being at a party and saying "I think he's here, I haven't seen him and don't know if he was planning on coming but I heard from someone else that he's here somewhere". Drake Clawfang 05:24, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Odds are fifty-fifty on wether or not Doug is Squall since Squall has also been played by David Boreanez. (Personally I hope its Boreanez who gets the role) Netherith 07:32, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm gonna assume that the voiceactors who have already voiced their characters will be reprising their roles, ;ike James Arnold Taylor for Tidus and Steve Burton for Cloud Strife.
Thanks for the link Drake, its kinda cool the JAT is that in touch with his fans. Also am I the who is able to remember that Golbez had a voice actor? Noone else ever lists him.
Cj Valentine is Kefka. For those of you who don't now who he is here is his youtube link http://www.youtube.com/user/lolfilmworks Poliwirl100 21:42, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Am I the only one who thinks Greg Ellis (who voices Cait Sith in FFVII Compilation) would make a great Kefka?
The trailer on the US PlayStation Store lets us hear the voices for WoL, Garland, Firion, Cecil, Cloud, Zidane and Kuja. Cloud and Cecil are definately Steve Burton and Yuri Lowenthal reprising their roles, and I'm positive Firion is Jonny Yong Bosch, the Power Ranger guy who does Nero and the main character of that Bleach thing.
Yeah, you're right on Firion's, Cloud's, and Cecil's, I think. Though Kuja sounds kinda like how Kefka should sound. Weird. BlueLionheart (T/C) 14:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I think a good voice for Terra is the one who voiced Aeris/th in CC. Andrea Bowen right? Also, Grey DeLisle (Jaqueline Natla of Tomb Raider) would make a good Ultimecia. Check out some of the FMV's of Tomb Raider Underworld involving Jaqueline Natla, she is so Cool..

Kuja's voice is wrong. | |||
Cecil sounds like WOL should sound, but worse. Unless that was WOL's voice over a clip of Cecil, but I doubt it. Dont get me wrong, Ive never played FF4, but I just don't think Cecil's voice suits him. Firion's voice is cool, though. Jamiemitsu 15:45, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
Kuja's voice would suit Kefka better, in my opinion. Makes you wonder who Square hired to voice Kefka...

So guys, are you thinking of an English accented Kuja, or a Girly accented Kuja??
Sooooo... Am I the only one who likes Kujas voice? It sounds androgynous, posh, and cocky, I.E. like kuja. Also the clip for Cecil seems woefully out of context, if Yuri Lowenthal delivers the same quality as he did for FFIVDS, we should be in for a good preformance.
SilverDragon28 - Fun fact about Sephiroth: after the events in the Whirlwind Maze, the next thing he says is "Good to see you, Cloud" in Advent Children. That's right, the main villain spends the second half of the game completely silent! TALK - 19:57, 8 June 2009 (UTC) Veni, vidi, vici.
@ Devil Breaker: English accented.
I don't think Kuja's voice is too bad, he sounds how I pretty much expected him to sound just by looking at him. And about Cecil, I swear he dosent sound like that in the few clips of DS voice acting Ive seen, so considering they got the same voice actor for this game, that must be WOL talking. Unless, of coarse, they changed Cecil's personality form brooding to flamboyant. Then again, in the only voice clip of Cecil Ive ever heard, he sounded pretty depressed "Im just a coward, e.t.c" and, of coarse "WHHHHHHHHYYY??!!!!!" Jamiemitsu 10:28, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
Most of the voiced scenes in FFIVDS are dramatic ones so he alsmost alwasy sound somber and morose, with the expception of the very last scene. so any thing other than brooding Cecil might sound a little off, also the line he says in the trailer sounds like a pre-fight line which might be why it seems so out of context with the scene.
So, it seems to me that some of the actors have been revealed. So far, I count on the wiki's Dissidia subpages that the following have a known English VA: Warrior of Light, Firion, Cecil, Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, Sephiroth and Jecht. Barring the first two and Zidane, it appears that they are recurring roles for the actors. What I'm curious to know is will the actors who voiced Golbez in FFIV DS and Gabranth in FFXII reprise their roles? I can't remember their names somehow. By my count we have 9 (potentially 11 if the last two return) voices revealed of the 22 playable characters. Neither Chaos', nor Cosmos', nor Cid of the Lufaine's VAs are known yet from where I checked. With Dissidia hitting the shelves in over 2 months, I'm sure the information will come in time, as well as other game-related information when someone gets an English copy. Hopefully I'll have it around the release date, so I can get a hands-on experience of the whole frenzy in a language I can understand.
The voices of Golbez and Gabranth are Anthony Landor and Michael Rodgers respectively, Micheal Rodgers has a very mild TV career so I see no reason why he wouldn't re voice his character. Information on Anthony Landor though is scarce at best so that one is much more up in the air, (heres hoping he does return though I loved his Golbez) Hopefully we'll get to see some of those character videos up on the english Dissidia site before the game hits the shelves so we can get a better glimpse of the voices, moreso for the characters who havent haven been voiced before. Heres hoping for Kefka's video.
{"JODI BENSON FOR TERRA, that is all" ~ Ixbran)
Well, with IGN and GameSpy doing some gameplay exhibitons on their sites and Drake Clawfang posting them on YouTube (Thanks BTW, Drake), I see that as the weeks count down to August 25th that the voices are slowly being revealed. Like today, we have Johnny Yong Bosch as Firion in one clip and supposedly Quintin Flynn as The Emperor in the other. I'm assuming at this point that it will be a weekly deal in numerical order from FFI to FFX on both IGN and GameSpy and thus on Drake's channel as time permits on his end. So next week will most likely reveal the voices of Onion Knight and Cloud of Darkness (both from FFIII). The countdown is on, folks!
I like the voices for Firion and the Emperor. Much better than Zidane and Kuja.
In fairness to the VAs for Kuja and Zidane we've only heard six words between the two of them, so if we could i'd suggest holding off any criticism til at least the IGN/GameSpy coverage. All and all imacctualy pretty optimistic the previews have made an excellent impression on me so ive got high hopes for the rest.
Mostly for the sake of not creating edit wars and huge talk page arguments, if you plan on changing the VA secton of one of the Dissidia Character boxes please provide some sort of information on the talk page to coraborate it, be it official statment or youtube to compare the voice to. Drake has already requested that noone change The Emperors page due to the quarelling there, so being a little more thorough certainly couldnt hurt. FinalFighterA+ 04:55, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
I found this video on youtube and it looks like Michael E. Rodgers won't voice Gabranth: Cecil vs. Gabranth and on an off topic related note I'm new so be don't be angry if I should make some horrible editing mistakes, 'kay? MissAlex
