Another thing that was on my mind for some time as well, is the "Voice" section present in several Final Fantasy XII character pages. Do we really need them? They only speak of Japanese and English voice actors which pretty much could go into the opening paragraph or the infobox, and have a quote with its audio sample; nothing intresting really. Characters from other voiced games doesn't have the "Voice" section. Also, Manual of Style doesn't mention it's needed so its inclusion is kinda breaking the MoS. However, if we do decide that we need the "Voice" section I'd say it would be better to take another look at the now archived Voice Actor Pages forum page as the section itself wouldn't really add anything new to the character page (for now, only Vanille would get a proper "Voice" page as we know that SE wanted her voice actress to make her voice rather unique). We could also post voice samples on the voice actor pages for each game and movie they did. Is there an article you think is of an exceptional quality? Vote for it here! | |||
I like the Voice section and sample clips in the FFXII character articles, personally. I don't know should they be mandatory though. | |||
Why wouldn't they be mandatory? If we like them, then we want them, and if something can have them then they should.
Basically, someone thought it was a good idea to have a Quote-reading template/upload audio samples of people talking, this developed into a section for character pages, and this was only done for XII. And it was never made official policy. 79.69.197.192 15:52, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

Wikia's search function can suck my dick (at least Oasis's). I searched "Voice" on forums and it's until the 26th page (also no ability to change the amount of options that appear on the page), and it returned: Forum:Voice Samples?. I think that's the discussion, or it was a discussion, which didn't lead far but it happened anyway. Eh, there probably was another forum, I could've sword XII was discussed specifically. I don't know if this is only temporary or already decided but, if it's the latter, why is this new section being put directly under Appearance and Personality (which is right at the top of the page...)? Voice acting is a relatively recent feature (it's only in 3 games out of 12, for the non-MMO main series) so IMHO it doesn't make sense for it to take priority over sections that ALL characters have, such as Story, Battle, etc... Would make much more sense to put it under (or as a sub-section of) Creation and Development. At most, a voice sample within Appearance and Personality; reading about how happy the VA was that they got the role isn't important enough to be that high up in the contents order. Silent Voice

- Sections are hardly in priority order. Higher up on the list are more story and character related. Then you usually get more gameplay-oriented sections. And then you get some remainders, Trivia, See Also, Gallery, and Development also. I'm not sure that's not exact, but it certainly isn't priority.
- Voice goes under Appearance and Personality because the appearance and personality of a character are easily related to their voice. They are both features of the character. JBed (talk) 22:36, June 6, 2013 (UTC)
