According to Article Creation Policy, main battle themes can have a page for it but we don't have a page for FFXIV battle themes yet. my question is FFXIV (Legacy & ARR) features about 10 main battle themes. should we create a page for every tracks or just one Final Fantasy XIV Battle Themes? related question, the main battle theme in ARR is melodically the same but uses different instrumentation in the different regions (thanalan/black shroud/*La Noscea*/coerthas/mor dhona.. so far thats 5), and they all have different names tho similar nomenclature (the land burns/breathes/bends/breaks/bleeds).. and i don't think any particular one is stated to be the 'main' version.. so how would that work?--Arciele Spira (talk) 16:18, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
If we need one particular song for the pages to bend to as lord and master, The Land Breathes is the only one of the lot to make it to Theatrhythm Curtain Call, if I remember correctly, so maybe that counts for some notoriety? Otherwise... *shrug* (The Land Bleeds is totally the best one tho', just sayin') Jimcloud 16:46, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
Ungh... I honestly don't know how to handle it. For the brief time I played FFXIV's trial version all battle themes sounded pretty much the same to me as they appear to be some minor instrumental changes between all of them which is really a very dull and lazy decision on SE's part. If we really need to give them a name I would choose "The Land Burns" as it is the first "The Land Something" theme used in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Original Soundtrack.
Edit conflict: Since Jim say that "The Land Breathes" made it to TFFCC we might as well go with her suggestion. Are we sure other variations of the battle theme doesn't appear in any of those social games? This would also be a factor that should be considered when choosing the name for this particular battle theme.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 16:57, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

So we're going with "The Land Breathes"? what about 4-5 battle themes from legacy version? those themes are totally different from each other. Monterossa (talk) 09:48, November 7, 2014 (UTC)

I'd argue that it's not a main battle if there's several of them. See our coverage of FFX-2: the YRP Fight! themes don't get separate pages (or pages at all, actually). The only real reason an XIV theme should get a separate page, imo, is if, like The Land Breathes, it appears outside of normal FF. C A T U S E 03:38, November 8, 2014 (UTC)
Well then that puts you at odds with the ACP, "three appearances outside of its original release's OST." We must consider Land Breathes the main battle theme otherwise it breaks the rules. And if all the battles are variations of the same theme then it is the main battle theme. We just need to pick a name, and therefore the one used outside of XIV is the best choice. I'm with JBed on this. The fact that they picked the Land Breathes out of all the different arrangements seems to suggest they want to use that as representative of FFXIV. The rest should be mentioned tho, since they're just different arrangements. Not sure how to handle 1.0. Each region did have a distinct battle theme.. tho I'd rather forget some of them existed.--Arciele Spira (talk) 05:51, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

Make both a list page (which can cover both 1.x and ARR, if you have the proper 1.x info) and a page for The Land Breathes, IMO. Considering the raw amount of battle themes in the game, I don't think it's right to only give one coverage, but The Land Breathes has appeared outside of FFXIV, which can't really be documented on a list page, making its own page necessary. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 01:56, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

like this?
  • List of Final Fantasy XIV Battle Themes - cover all FFXIV battle themes and boss themes for both Legacy & ARR
  • The Land Breathes - for Land Breathes and its alternate versions
