I understand why there are ads and all, they keep the Wiki up and running so FF fans, like myself, can sit and read about something interesting, instead of stuff like that book where the girl has a vampire and a werewolf fighting over her, forgot the name, never made much money. Anyway, while trying to view a pop-up picture of the Black Mage concept art from FFIX, I noticed that you can't see it, because there are 3 obnoxious ads covering up most of it. I figured signing in would help, so I scrolled up, clicked 'sign in', And guess what? One of the ads covered up my 'Screen name/password' boxes. I decided to come to the forums, so I go to the side bar, to 'community' and the little box where I would click to go to the forums was also covered up by the ad. This all happened in under a few seconds, so 'off course' I'm gonna be kinda irked. Is something wrong with the wiki where the ads are allowed to cover up content? Kujo999 17:00, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't have those ads, but it maybe depends on your location? I just get that idiotic geek to geek dating site ad (ahahahaha god). I'd use some browser plug-in to turn adverts off if I were you.Keltainentoukokuu 17:07, July 27, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
- Hehe, I'm glad this was brought up, because one day I decided to take multiple screen caps of one of out articles and paste them together, just to show how stupid these ads are getting:
- I have to say though, I hate the ad placement. I know that Wikia want them to be obvious, but they tend to make the articles look horrendous. I know it's to prompt people to get accounts, but sometimes I just can't be bothered logging in when I want to quickly get some info. Diablocon 17:26, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Wide monitor is wide.
- For me, as an anon, adverts aren't that obtrusive. The only thing it does is move images far down if the image is aligned left beneath the first ==,== header. 88.108.92.183 17:44, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
