Well I've found out there is a one-shot manga called "Final Fantasy XIII - Shounen Kiss (Doujinshi)". It was apparently released this year and is subbed in some sites. Figured I should let you know since, we can make a page about it, and add the material of the manga to each of the characters' pages. Now my question is, this would go in the "other appearances" section right? --BGMaxie (talk) 19:15, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Is it official? If not, there's no point in having it here.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 19:17, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
Depends on what you mean by "official". As in approved or published by Square? Well as far as I know doujinshis are original works of mostly new authors, although older authors also post that stuff. At the very least I'd dare say that since the manga exists, that Square should have been notified, that's my very wild guess. So I'm not sure what "official" is for you if not that '-' --BGMaxie (talk) 19:24, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
It's not created by SE so not official. They tolerate derivative fan works like this.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:29, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
Well if I'm not mistaken Lightning has made appearances in non-Square media, and has that info on the pages right? So why would being "official" make a difference? Just in case. --BGMaxie (talk) 19:35, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
Fan works need to pass a notability test. I am unsure what the criteria are, though they should be somewhere on the wiki...Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:36, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

I hope some notable video game site will acknowledge FF Violin someday. Their remixes are too good to not be on this wiki. Monterossa (talk) 20:19, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Well, this is a terrible off-topic, but yes: FF Violin is a blessing for this scorched earth. For now, all that one can do is put all those unnoticed things on the Fandom Wiki, I think.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 20:53, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
I kind of get the picture but I wanna ask this anyway. How can you tell when the product has been recognized or acknowledged by Square-Enix? At very least I wouldn't know how to check that '-' --BGMaxie (talk) 04:08, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
The policy page Kaimi linked to does give specific examples. Typically, either Square's PR department has mentioned or pointed people towards the work (so check SE's official blogs and stuff like that), or that the creator has gotten in contact with SE and gotten an OK to sell their work (in which case the creator will likely have posted that somewhere). Doujinshi artists rarely, if ever, get permission from the copyright holder so in this case you'd probably have to look for the former. For the time being I'd follow Kaimi's advice and make it on ff-fandom, you can easily copy the page over if you find any proof of recognition. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 04:55, December 17, 2014 (UTC)
I understand, will do that for now. --BGMaxie (talk) 17:22, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
