As Add Status covers when a weapon has a status ailment attached to it, we don't appear to have an "Add Spell" page, that is, when attacking with a weapon that has a chance to cast a spell on the target. The difference is between the FF6 Zantetsuken inflicting Instant Death versus the Soul Saber casting the Death spell.
So, FF4 has a few weapons like this, FF5 and FF6 have them. Are there any other games? And if we make a page for this, what should it be called?
Of course a page. And for name: "Add Spell", "Add Cast", "Added Cast". JBed (talk) 16:40, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
FFT also has weapons like that. I'm assuming this might carry over to the sequels, but I have no idea. But yeah, that's four appearances at least, I think that's enough.
(technically two appearance is enough, but since this is sort-of a series of support abilities (because the spell changes), I would have said one is enough) JBed (talk) 16:45, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
Sandbox up, feel free to edit it.
Was unsure about listing the Dancing Dagger, Thiefknife and in FF5 Hayate Bow, they randomly use Dance, Mug and Rapid Fire when attacking. So perhaps this should be "Add Ability" ?
Add Ability sounds better, since that'll allow everything to be added and not exclude things due to not being a spell. I'm sure there's other things that's similar to Dancing Dagger and the others in other games that don't actually use spells per say.
That would open it up to VII's Added Cut. Also possibly Steal as Well but that is debatable: it's a bit different.
Unsure about "Add Ability". I think I'd personally prefer "Added Ability". But whatever. JBed (talk) 22:07, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Added Ability works for me, with FF7 added it's closest we have to a proper canonically used name.
