Folding Epee (フォールディング・エペ, Fōrudingu Epe?) is a recurring weapon in the Final Fantasy series. It is generally used by Jihl Nabaat in her spin-off appearances.

Folding Epee (XIII) is a FR Sword for Jihl that enables access to the FR ability, Request for Turks Cooperation, as well as the abilities Request for Turks Cooperation Exceed I, Request for Turks Cooperation Exceed II, and Request for Turks Cooperation Exceed III. It provides 103 HP, 55 DEF, 373-403 iBRV, 3666-3891 mBRV, 1287-1362 ATK, and adds 130-140 CP.

It can be upgraded to rarity 7 where it provides a minimum of 180 Attack and 18 Magic, a maximum of 252 Attack and 63 Magic, is Lightning-elemental, and Limit Break +3000. It can only be equipped by Jihl.

Etymology[]
The épée is the modern derivative of the dueling sword, the small sword (itself descended from the rapier by way of the colichemarde), used in sport fencing. Épée is French for "sword". As a thrusting weapon the épée is similar to a foil (compared to a sabre), but has a stiffer blade which is triangular in cross-section with a V-shaped groove called a fuller, has a larger bell guard, and is heavier.
