The Flan Princess is a Soul of Rebirth enemy from Final Fantasy II, meant to resemble the species introduced in Final Fantasy IV. Unlike the other Flan enemies, Flan Princess does not absorb the Poison element, and is instead weak to it. However, it absorbs all other elements.

Etymology[]
The word Flan refers to an open pastry or sponge cake containing a sweet or savory filling. A typical flan of this sort is round, with shortcrust pastry, usually coated with sweet syrup. It is similar to a custard tart or a South African melktert.
Princess is the feminine form of prince. Most often, the term has been used for the consort of a prince or for the daughters of a king or sovereign prince.
