The Flan is an enemy from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates.

Stats

Battle

They are the weakest of the Flan-type enemies, and will either attack with a headbutt if the player is by it, or with a Thunder spell if the player is on top of it, the Flan has been picked up by the player, or if the player is too far away.

It is highly recommended to pick the Flan up and wall slam it against walls, as long as the player avoids the constant barrage of Thunder spells that will come their way. Otherwise, the player will have to resort to magic to defeat the Flan quickly.

Etymology

The word Flan refers to an open pastry or sponge cake containing a sweet or savory filling. A typical flan of this sort is round, with shortcrust pastry, usually coated with sweet syrup. It is similar to a custard tart or a South African melktert.
