An elegant piece of armor touched by the saving grace of an undying feathered creature.

Description

Firebird Armlet is a piece of armor in "Episode INTERmission" in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. It has three single materia slots, and provides +46 to Defense Defense and Magic Defense Magic Defense. It is a good armor piece with balanced defense, but its main feature is that it revives the user once from KO, unless they were killed by an Instant Death attack or from 1 HP.

Obtained[]

Firebird Armlet is obtained by defeating The Crimson Mare as part of the main quest in "Fateful Confrontation" in Chapter 2, "Covert Ops".

Use[]

The armor piece is used to save the wearer from KO once per battle. It has the same effect as Revival Earrings and the Reprieve weapon passive. The different auto-revives stack if worn together. Sonon also sacrifices himself to revive Yuffie if he is alive when she is KO'd. The player can thus decide which party member it would be more useful on. Sonon will always revive Yuffie if he can, but the player may then be stuck in a loop of trying to revive Sonon and keep him from immediately dying if they don't have Arise Arise; Sonon being able to revive Yuffie and then also restore himself back to life via equipment effects may thus work out well.

The downside to firebird armlet is that it lacks linked materia slots.

Etymology[]

The name refers to the mythical phoenix. In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Greek: φοῖνιξ phoinix; Latin: phoenix, phœnix, fenix) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. According to some sources, the phoenix dies in a show of flames and combustion, although there are other sources that claim that the legendary bird dies and simply decomposes before being born again. According to some texts, the phoenix could live over 1,400 years before rebirth.
