Use[]

Fire can be used by characters with the Fire Materia at level 1. At early levels, it can be a potent spell to cast on enemies that resist physical attacks, but are more vulnerable to magic generally. It is especially useful against enemies weak to Fire-elemental attacks, such as animals and water monsters.

The spell can be amplified by pairing the Fire Materia with Support Materia. The All Materia allows it to hit all enemies, while MP Turbo boosts both its damage and MP cost. As the spell has a low MP cost in general, MP Turbo can be efficient on Fire.

Fire becomes outclassed by Fire2 and Fire3, both gained from the leveled up Fire Materia. It can still be advisable to use Fire to conserve MP. It is also outclassed by Flare, gained from the Contain Materia. Fire is superior to the Flame Thrower E.Skill, even though the latter deals slightly more damage, for being able to be paired with Support Materia and for having a lower MP cost.

Fire can be cast by the enemies Mono Drive, Hedgehog Pie, Ghost, Sample:H0512-opt, Turks:Rude (during the Gongaga encounter) and Poodler. It is also equipped by Dyne, Pollensalta, and Death Dealer, but they will never use it in their AI script.
