Versions prior to Pixel Remaster use an ordered spell cycle and skill cycle for monster AIs, rather than randomly selecting actions.

Targeting[]

If the targeting of an action is an allied enemy, a living enemy is chosen at random with equal rates between each other. If the targeting of the action is a single party member, the target is chosen at these rates depending on their order in the formation:

  • Slot 1: 50%
  • Slot 2: 25%
  • Slot 3: 12.5%
  • Slot 4: 12.5%

If a KO'd party member is selected, the random selection is performed again until a living party member is chosen. Versions prior to Pixel Remaster also avoid selecting a petrified party member.
