This is a list of Weapon Weapons in Final Fantasy XIV. Due to the nature of the Armory System, each weapon is tied to a specific discipline; equipping a weapon changes class accordingly. Weapons are the most important piece of equipment for characters due to the core physical and magical damage attributes found only on weapons playing a larger factor in damage and healing calculations than any other attribute. In addition to this, weapons carry greater bonus attributes than any other equipment slot.

Relic Weapons

Each release has brought with it a group of weapons colloquially known as "Relic Weapons", named for the first such batch of weapons from the original release and A Realm Reborn. Identified by the purple background on their icons, these weapons are acquired through dedicated max-level questlines. As the patch cycle for each release progresses, the questlines continue allowing players to continuously upgrade the weapon before reaching a final stage in the final patch before the next expansion. The questlines generally involve significant time investment but do not require players to run high difficulty content, making them completable by even casual players. Relic weapons are generally one of if not the most powerful weapons available during any given patch.
